Nikolai
Hi, I have been using affinity for a bit now and I like it a lot. However, I have gotten a new camera. After being out taking pictures, I come home and I load up the pictures and there is no lens correction for my lens. I have the Canon RP and the Canon RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 STM. I have then found out that the lens correction is not available in Affinity Photo. So my questions are, can I get the lens correction elsewhere? Is a lens correction getting released? The thing is that distortion and vignetting is pretty significant in the lens I am using, so the pictures would be close to unusable without editing it out. I hope someone can help! emmrecs01
@Nikolai Welcome to the Affinity forums. Serif use the LensFun Library for the lens correction data in APh. Which lens do you have and has it been added to the LensFun library? If it has I think it is likely that a future update of APh will incorporate the updated library and so it will be available to you. This quite lengthy thread includes more information about this. HTH Jeff Thank you for the response. I have checked on lensFun’s website and no it isn’t there. I have this lens - “CANON RF 24-105MM F4-7.1 IS STM”. Is there any solution for this? Or should I just wait and see if it comes down the line. The corrections are applied in the .JPEG files so I might just use them for now. Although it isn’t as great as the .RAW files. With my lens, EF 24-105/4L IS USM, I was unhappy with the tca correction profile from Lensfun. I took a picture of a metal fence at almost every reported focal length and generated the correction data. What a difference! 1. Tca uncorrected. 2. Tca corrected with the profile from Lensfun. 3. Tca corrected with my own profile.
