In illustrator I duplicate my text, add border, convert it in curves and then subtract to another form. Other solution in illustrator convert form in curve and expend. Best regards.

With illustrator i duplicate my text, add borders, make vector with borders (in my french version of illustrator : vectoriser les contoures) and subtract it to red lines. please find below the final result.
