Not possible to enable layers and jump to the next layer

Normally / intuitively I would click at the are of the red circle, the element gets de-/activated and then the next layer underneath will be shown.

I can certainly understand your desire for the layer to become selected when ticking to reveal a layer, however I suspect you would not want the layer to be selected when unticking to hide a layer?

If your layer beneath is already ticked and therefore visible, it should show when hiding the layer above it - although I'm not 100% certain what you mean by this. Could you please expand on this for me if I have misunderstood you?
