Affinity Designer crashes after opening documents

Recommended Posts

After i have done the newest update 1.9.1, i now have a problem opening any kind of document. The Programm crashes after i open a new doc, an already existing one, a picture. i have done the repair of the update, still doesnt function, i already have done all driver updates, i reset all brushes ect.

I just dont know what to do!

Any ideas?

If you are on Windows, then Hardware Acceleration introduced in 1.9.1 has proved problematic for some users

So as a starting point please go to...

Edit > Preferences > Performance

and untick that option and try again

If it still crashes let us know

yes i work on win10

I have no option to untick in performance, because it already is unticked..

i have the same problem with affinity photo.

i also did clean everything you could with lauching and pressing Ctrl at the same time..

Problem remans exactly the same after newly updated to 1.9.2

OK, go into the same screen

Edit > Preferences > Performance

and change the Renderer: setting to Warp

and retest

is it my grafic card? it is at least 7 years old..

It could be but more likely that your graphics card is using an out of date driver

You could search for a later driver and install that to see if it works or just leave it set to Warp

Technically Warp is slower than using a graphics card but if your usage of the program's functions is minimal you may not notice any speed issues
