Severe crashes with Affinity Photo 1.9 and 1.9.1

Recommended Posts

Yesterday I wanted to edit a screen dump. I opened the screen dump, cropped it, wanted to crop it a bit more, and then Affinity Photo 1.9.1 crashed. I restarted Affinity Photo, and then the fun began. First I got a message that there was something wrong with the settings, and then my notebook started to beep very loud. I stopped Affinity Photo, but that did not stop my notebook from beeping. I was closing all other applications, in order to reboot, but then the notebook switched itself off. No Blue Screen of Death, no completely off. After a reboot everything was fine again.

I had a similar experience with 1.9 some weeks ago.

My impression is that Affinity Photo is trying to address a part of the PC that is not allowed, and that it is causing the notebook to shut down.

Hi @grunnvms,

My sincerest apologies for the delayed response here! We're currently working through a backlog of tickets so we appreciate your patience and understanding here.

I'm certainly sorry to hear you experienced these issues with Affinity 1.9.1 - we've since released version 1.9.2 which had multiple bug fixes for Hardware Acceleration (which I am assuming was causing these crashes for you previously).

Can you please verify for me, has this happened again since updating to version 1.9.2? :)
