Every time I try to create a new document, Affinity Designer freezes. I had this same issue with the free trial and thought it would go away when v1.9 came out so I went ahead and purchased the app. The free trial worked fine with Photo and Publisher so I'm not sure what's up with Designer. If I knew this program was such hell I would have just stayed with Adobe. Is anyone else experiencing this? I'm really annoyed about this.

Hi @Samara C.,

Our sincerest apologies for the delayed response here, we're currently working through a backlog of tickets, so many thanks for your patience and understanding.

Is this an issue that you are still experiencing, or have you been able to resolve this since please?

If you're still having trouble then I recommend following the below instructions, as a few users are experiencing issues with Hardware Acceleration on Windows, the number one cause of which is outdated Graphics Card drivers.

Please visit the manufactures link below to download the latest driver available -

- Intel: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html
- Nvidia: https://www.geforce.com/drivers
- AMD: https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/gpu-driver-autodetect

Note: you may need to go direct to your PC manufactures website for the driver, if you see a warning regarding 'OEM drivers' when trying to install one from the above sites.

Once downloaded and installed, please restart your computer and then launch the Affinity app again.

Are you now able to create a new document without the app crashing? Many thanks in advance!

Please note -

I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time.

Should you require a response from the team in a thread I have previously replied in - please Create a New Thread and our team will be sure to reply as soon as possible.

Many thanks!
