Hi,

There are video turorials available explaing the process.

It depends heavily on

  1. your type of RAW images (camera RAW photos, scans of positive / negative film, pre-edited stock photos, ...)
  2. your intention what you want to achive
  3. The output format (RGB for jpg, P3, HDR for SDR display, HDR for HDR capable displays, CYMK for print, ...)

what has to be done in Develop Persona, so no "one size fits it all".

If yoou share more about the 2 questions above, maybe provide a sample file AND your intended result, we might be able to give more specific help.

For a photo (Camera RAW used for jpeg as final):

  1. basic exposure correction
  2. basic color temperature correction
  3. Lens correction (distortion)
  4. straighten image with "rotate" - i prefere this vs. crop tool straighten
  5. basic crop (maybe straighten if not used "rotate")
  6. retouch defects, e.g. sensor dust visible in sky
  7. choose suitable output format (16 bit suitable in most cases)
  8. basic denoise (depends on ISO settings and exposure, 0 to 50% highly depending on picture)
  9. basic "refine" (denoise and refine work kind of against each other). Having a Canon EOS80D with very bad lenses, i usually apply refine with 50% radius and 20-50% ammount to achieve a basic sharpening

all the rest can be done better in Photo Persona.

It is mainly a matter of personal style and preferences

  • what to do
  • in what sequence

Kind regards,

Timo
