Tokamak
I did something, and now when I select a layer with ctrl+click, the layers panel automatically jumps to showing that layer in the list, including opening any groups it is in. This means if I want to be looking at a specific list of layers in the layers panel, I can't keep the view there, because it keeps jumping around and opening groups I didn't want opened. For a document with a couple hundred objects/layers. this is kind of a problem. This isn't how it used to work. Normally when I select a layer with ctrl+click, I have to use ctrl+K to cause the layers panel to reveal the currently selected layer, otherwise the layers panel stays as it was. I don't know what I did. Does anyone know how I get the default behavior back? Thanks!
Tokamak
One further problem: ctrl+click is selecting hidden layers. This means I can't select layers lower down in the stack, even if I hide the layers above. What the heck did I do?
GaryLearnTech
I think you want to toggle the following setting: Preferences > User Interface > Auto-scroll to show selection in Layers panel Quote —— Gary —— Photo/Designer/Publisher: Affinity Store, v2.5.n release (and, since I have the space, the last v1 versions too). Thank you! I wonder what on earth I did to change that. The change happened when I was just using the program. One second the behavior wasn't there, and another it was. I haven't been into the preference window in ages. Oh well, thanks for the help!
GaryLearnTech
@Tokamak I believe it is a new feature that came with the recent v1.9 update (I've not been paying close attention for a while and am only now getting back up to speed). I've seen a few posts where users have been caught out by it. Quote —— Gary —— Photo/Designer/Publisher: Affinity Store, v2.5.n release (and, since I have the space, the last v1 versions too).
