Designer Default Styles Missing After Upgrade to 1.9

Recommended Posts

I upgraded to Affinity Designer 1.9 yesterday, and I noticed that the Styles options are no longer available.  Regardless of which style I click on...Neon..etc, nothing happens.  Has something changed in the new version?  I'm new to Affinity, and I'm just trying to figure out what happened.  Can I download those default styles from somewhere?  Please advise.

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums.

Just to clarify something: You've said that the styles are missing, but also that when you click on them they don't do anything.

Which is it? If they're missing, then there wouldn't be anything to click on. Can you give us a screenshot including the Styles panel.

Also, what OS do you run?

What I meant by missing was the name of the style is there, but when you click on it nothing happens.  Those were options under default before I upgraded.  Now, the name of the "style" shows, but that's all.  There are four other styles that are listed after my download, and I attached a snippet of one of them.  As you can see, the style and the icon shows, and it actually does what it shows.  Again, I don't know much about Affinity, but I do know that those default styles were great, and I'd like to know how I can get them back.  Just to let you know, I've tried resetting things under maintenance, but nothing changed after that either.  My platform that I am running on is Windows 10.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi, I'm just letting you know that I found the fix.  I selected Ctrl when the app opened up, and it allowed me to clear the settings that way!  I was fully aware that anything that  I installed after the initial setup would be gone, but it is *FIXED* !😁   I can always re-install my downloaded purchases.image.png.bde4d83da38ed58c0d3a18614338111f.png
