r1chm
When I try to open R5 raw images, Affinity Photo just crashes and asks you to send the crash. I am using version 1.9.0 and it says in the documentation that the Canon R5 is supported and the R6. Here is a cut and paste from the list. EOS R EOS R5 EOS R6 (new) EOS RP EOS-1D C EOS-1D X EOS-1D X Mark II EOS-1D X Mark III (lossless compressed only) I am trying the trial version. Is it different from the real version in regards to the R5 raw files not crashing the program? The program seems to be decent from what I can see but if it does not support a mainstream camera like the R5, it is not a good program and does not have good support. The r5 has been out for quite some time now and my other raw editor supports it (on1). Although I do not use Adobe products, Lightroom has supported R5 for some time now. Dan C
Hi @r1chm, Welcome to the forums and I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing crashing! Before we begin here, I have split your post from the thread it was posted in as I believe this is a different issue from the one being discussed there. Currently this means you're no longer 'following' this thread and won't be notified of replies. If you wish to change this please select 'Follow' at the top right of the thread - In regards to the issue you're reporting - I can confirm that the Trial version of the app is exactly the same as the retail version, except that it has a time limit applied. I have downloaded a sample RAW file from the Canon EOS R5 and opened this here, in Affinity Photo on Windows 10. As can be seen from the below screenshot, the file loaded correctly and did not crash the app - Can you please confirm for me: Does the app crash opening any RAW file from the EOS R5, or only certain ones? What about other image files? (such as JPEG, TIFF etc) At what point does the app crash? When loading the RAW, when developing it? If possible, can you please upload a sample EOS R5 RAW file here for me? Many thanks in advance
