WIll grafic card will solve the problem of Vivid Light Bending of Photo after Live Hi-Pass Filter

Recommended Posts

Recently I have upgrated the Desktop with following configuration:

Operating System Window 10 64Bit with Intel i5 10Gen/ Motherboard Gigabyte 410M S2/ 8GB RAM Kingston/Window10 on 240GB SSD. There is no separate Graphic card instead Onboard Graphics is used ( Integrated Graphic Processor-Intel HD Graphic support: 1.1xD-Sub port, supporting a maximum resolution of 1920x1200@60Hz. Maximum Shared memory of 512MB. Subsequently I purchased Affinity Photo and started processing Sony ARW files in Develop Parsona and then enhancing in Photo Parsona. After basic adjustments and effect when I use Hi-Pass Filter for Sharpening and apply Bending say Overlay or Soft Light or Hard Light it does proper blending but for Vivid Light the photo turns out white with streak of Black Lines. Is it because of Onboard Graphic Card? Will the separate Graphic card of 2GB will resolve this issue. I seek your help.

Hi @Sudhir,

Sorry to hear you're having trouble!

I'd like a little bit more information regarding this issue here, can you please confirm for me, what Colour Space is your document currently set to? Is it RGB/16 Bit by chance?

Could you please provide a screenshot of the error you're seeing when setting the High Pass Filter to Vivid Light?

Many thanks in advance :)

Hi Dan C,

Thanks for prompt reply. It is RGBA/16. All necessary screen shots are attached for your ready ref.

Please note that I have been using Affinity Photo on iPad 6th Generation with RGBA/16 but I have not facing the problem.

I seek your advice..

Thanks for the information provided here!

I can confirm that this is a known issue when applying the Vivid Light blend mode to a High Pass filter layer in an RGB/16 document on Windows. The only known workaround currently is to change the image to RGB/8, or choose a different blend mode, my apologies!

This issue is logged with our developers and we hope to resolve this shortly.

Many thanks for your report :)
