Crash everytime. Crash after undo striking with brush using drawing tablet huion.

Recommended Posts

Step to reproduce:

  1. Open affinity designer (with huion connected)
  2. Create a new pixel layer using cmd shift n
  3. Strike a brush using drawing pen
  4. Undo
  5. Strike again (and then it crashed)

My file setup was:

  1. Filesize: 3MB
  2. in iCloud folder
  3. Using multiple artboards (two so far)

Oh, and really slow brush on the first stroke using drawing tablet. If I release the pen and create another strike, it ran smooth on the second and later. But later on after a while this thing happened again.

Please help, thanks.

Hi claudiofrs,

We're aware of this crash and it only happens if the Appearance Panel is visible. If you close the panel (or ensure its not visible) then you should be able to avoid the crash.

I'll get your details passed over and get the issue bumped with development.

thanks for replying. doing it now, and will get back to you if I encounter this again.

Oh, and the laggy brush? is it caused by the same event?

Hi claudiofrs - the laggy behaviour you're seeing, is likely happening because the assistant first creates a pixel layer before it can be drawn on so you get that little blip, as the second stroke already has that pixel layer present and selected you won't see that. If you use the Layer Panel to create your pixel layer first you should find it stops that.
