Selection automatically jumps to wrong layer on action

Recommended Posts

Hi you all

I have a horribly annoying problem concerning:

Affinity Design + Wacom qintiq pro

So I pick a new layer, its highlighted, start drawing (hopefull that it will end on top of everything else). On making the first line, the piece of vector

automatically jumps down into an other group further down the layers!!!! Again and again and again.

I am going nuts. Furthermore when I move a piece off vector it does the same!!!! Moves it backwards in layers! Why???

Hi @Wikwak,
Welcome to Affinity Forums :)
Are you using artboards? If you are drawing something over an artboard on canvas which is located on a layer outside the respective artboard layer in the Layers panel, that object will be automatically moved to the inside artboard layer in the Layers panel. Is this what you doing/happening with you? Only if you disable the Edit All Layers button on the bottom left of the layers panel, the object will be kept in the layer you have selected when you are drawing it over an artboard on canvas.
