Juanay Hauptfleisch
Hi I just want to ask how to prevent strokes from losing its width, after using the pressure settings of the stroke tool, to change the ends or the middle of the line? In the "Example_Correct Line" image, is the width I want it to be, but the line loses it's width and looks like image "Example_Change in Line Width". I keep on getting this problem when I export with SVG, PDF and EPS and do not know what to do to keep the width of the line from shrinking. I do not want to convert the layers (curves) to layers (pixels). I want use the image in After Effects, through importing it into Adobe Illustrator, but it causes whites spots around the line corners when converted to pixels. I would like to know if there is a work around? Thank
thomaso
Hi Juanay, Welcome to the Affinity Forums! Your 1st screenshot ("Correct...") shows a stroke while the 2nd ("Changin...") shows a filled shape, possibly created by the command "Expand Stroke". To me none of them appear to have a custom pressure curve applied. Here a sample with a modified pressure curve: in pink the initial stroke, in green a copy + modified pressure curve. In the bottom row the same object with "Expand Stroke" applied. The stroke or object width doesn't get changed at any stage. In case you mean to ask for the differing width when applying "Expand Stroke": This is a reported issue and logged by a moderator. Juanay Hauptfleisch
Yes. I mean the case of the differing width when applying the "Expand Stroke". The other case is when I want to export the strokes in SVG, PDF and EPS format without using the "Expand Stroke" tool on the curves, but have managed to figure out how to work around this. I found a temporary fix for this: Select the group the layers (Curves) are in Go to the Layer tab Change the layer by clicking on "Promote Group to Layer" Thank you for the support, I appreciate it.
