It is a very very complex algorithm requiring complex encoding. It is not backwards compatible, not many sites use it regarding social media, it is not popular either with camera manufacturers or photographers. While it has a much better compression and final output than Jpeg, it never really took on as a viable alternative, mainly for the lack of compatibility and abundance of other formats anyway. Sorry that I can not answer your question, but I suppose, if you did not know this already, I hope that a little information might be helpful. I suppose you will have to download a conversion tool to convert to another format. I've not seen a good 16bit file format where the images don't take enormous amounts of drive space. JPEG2000 was the best compromise as my scanner software only supports JP2 and TIF output formats in 16bit. I guess a JP2 to TIF conversion will suffice when I need to work the images (which is what I'm doing at the moment with a family photobook). I actually purchased Affinity Photo without first using the trial. My bad for sure but my Photoshop version is getting a little old and doesn't support the raw files from the camera. A time will come when I'm done with the JP2 files for photobooks and this limitation won't phase me. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
