Allie
Hello, I'm trying to place an image, 4160 x 2340 pixels, into a document size of 864 x 486 pixels. The image quality is coming out a bit blurry and not crisp. I understand sizing down an image usually doesn't present a problem; however sizing up will. So what am I doing wrong? I never have this issue when I'm using Photoshop. I'm new to Affinity and can't seem to figure out what the problem is. Please help!! walt.farrell
Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, @Allie. If I've done the calculation correctly, you're throwing away about 96% of the pixels in your original when you Place it in the new document. I don't think there's any way it can be as clear and crisp as the original, with only 4% of the data. However, to get it closer, you can do some sharpening, perhaps using the Unsharp Mask filter. I think you'll find that Photoshop does that automatically, but Photo leaves it up to you. Allie
Thanks so much for the info! I'm just using Indesign instead. I set the doc size and place the image and it's good to go. It doesn't decrease the image quality like Affinity. I'm at a loss with Affinity!
walt.farrell
Can you provide the original image you're Placing, and the .afphoto document you Placed it into?
