Exporting to .eps with editable word layers and consistent masking

I'm trying to export some illustrations and photos from .afphoto. I have added label and adjustment layers. The adjustments are maintained, but any masked or deleted backgrounds show up again, and word labels aren't editable directly--they are converted to curves. 

What export setting can be used to make these functions apply?

Please could you try grouping the elements then export to EPS? If possible could you provide a copy of one of the afphoto files so I can try some things at my end? If you would rather not post the file here on the forums please let me know and I will send you a private message

@Callum Thanks, but I got a resolution. It turns out that .eps is just not going to work for what we need. I'm exporting to PDF instead. This video also helped a ton!
