First run Designer 1.8.4 could not save

Recommended Posts

This is not an issue that I think I could reproduce. It would take me deleting Designer 1.8.4, reverting to an older version, updating again to Designer 1.8.4.

Using MacOS 10.15.5, I updated Designer from 1.8.3 to 1.8.4.

After spending an hour or so on a newly created document, I attempted saving my work. The result was that there was no Save dialog box. Saving As..., Export, nothing seemed to work.

Copying the image to the newly updated Photo program allowed me to save the image but the resulting resolution was unsatisfactory. I then took a screenshot of the image, quit Designer and recreated the vector graphic from scratch. The second run of Designer allowed the proper action with the Save dialog. This glitch caused a bit of frustration.

I am really liking this set of applications, Designer, Photo, and Publisher. They suit my needs very well.

Hey @buckyjunior Welcome to the Affinity forums.

I'm sorry to hear you had this issue but glad to hear it was not something recurring so you were able to complete your work and save it. I'll keep a look out for this but if you do experience anything odd like this in the future a quick screenshot or video of the issue would be a big help. 👍
