AllAppsUser Posted August 15, 2020 Posted August 15, 2020 I’ve searched high and low for this. Can’t find it in the help either. I’ve got completely lost with it now, having tried snap setting after snap setting to no avail. I’m trying to snap a node on one path to another on another path. Can anyone guide me as to what snap settings I need to achieve this, please? See image. is the problem that the two are on completely different layers - though I’m sure I tried a setting for all layers. I’ve got a bit befuddled with it tbh. Time to call it a night, methinks. all help gratefully received. Dan C Posted August 15, 2020 Posted August 15, 2020 Hi @ProDesigner, Sorry to hear you're having trouble! From the look of your document, the following settings should work here - Please do let me know if this helps Quote

I don't know how to reach it - it doesn't seem to be a link. Dan C Posted August 15, 2020 Posted August 15, 2020 How strange, the image is still showing for me in my browser, even in your 'quoted' section! I've tried uploading the image to our dropbox account and linked this below - is this better? https://www.dropbox.com/s/3j7eht2meklrzss/File 15-08-2020%2C 13 34 28.jpeg?dl=0 AllAppsUser 1 Quote
AllAppsUser Posted August 15, 2020 Author Posted August 15, 2020 Hello @Dan C. Thanks for that. Snapping has kicked-in (based on your settings)! Marvelous.. really powerful snapping feature. Nothing changed at first, and my heart sank a bit... then... I touched the 'home' arrow wondering if there was some global thing in the app preferences I should attend to. I waded through them (not changing anything). When I came back into the artwork, bingo, node snapping was working! ?? Thoughts. Coming out of the file caused it to pick-up the changed settings (reread them) when I went back in? If so, no wonder changing snap settings before seemed to be a bit fruitless? Regardless, you've sorted me out. Brilliant! Thanks for taking the time, appreciated. - - - - - - - - - - - - - Lack of image display It is weird... on my Macbook I just see "p.jpeg?fv_content=tru..etc.", on the iPad I see a blank space (both in your post and in my quote!) If I right-click on the text on the MacBook I get an error page.. looks like something to do with DropBox. Yours is the first I've encoutered like this. Two thoughts occur to me 1) maybe everyone but me is constantly logged in to their dropbox, and 2), few folks post photos from dropbox to their forum posts here. Thanks again. That's certainly strange, it does sound as though the file needed 'refreshing' for the snapping to initialise - this isn't something I've come across before so please do let me know if you experience such behaviour again On 8/15/2020 at 8:03 PM, ProDesigner said: Capture of what I see below Thanks for providing that, this was an issue with how our forum software was uploading images and has since been resolved! AllAppsUser Posted August 18, 2020 Author Posted August 18, 2020 Will do @Dan C. Thanks for this feedback. When you're learning new software/workflows, you have no idea what's expected behaviour and what isn't. Snapping I have had something of the ilk happen again with snapping after tweaking the settings again, but didn't observe it. I just crashed on through it - so can't tell you anything useful. I'll observe it properly, should it occur again, and report in. Images in posts Glad to have been of help.
