Affinty Photo crashes all the time (every 2 min!)

Recommended Posts

Hello!

I'm very sad because i've just obtained the latest vesion of Photo (1.8.3) on my Acer Nitro 5 (Win10) and since i've bought it, it crashes all the time...

every 2 min of working on all my documents, it crashes and i can't do anything on the software. It is not freezing but the tool i was just using stays selected, and i'm not able to close the software, neither to go on my layers, or to select another tool...

This is very exhausting... i wanted to be independant from adobe by using Affinity softwares but...well.. it's not working correctly on my laptop...

I've reinstalled the software, checked all my nvidia drivers, and tried both video cards in setting preferences (performances etc... Intel UHD or Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650), restarted my computer... that's same same...

Could anybody help me?

(i'm sorry for my very bad english, i'm french then..you know..!)

have a nice day everyone!

Lucie

Hi Lucie C,

Can you try resetting and letting me know the results:

With Affinity closed

Hold down the Windows key and tap the letter R.  This will bring up the run box.  In here type:

%appdata%

Click okay

A Windows explorer window will open showing you some folders.  Open the folder called Affinity, followed by Photo.

You should now see a folder called 1.0 . Please right click on this and rename it Old Settings and then start Affinity as normal and try using it again.

Hello Stokerg !

Thanks for your help!

That's better after doing what you've said, but it still freezes after few minutes and every tool change...!

I think i won't continue on Affinity suite, so sad because I wanted a alternative for Ps and Ai, and thought that Affinity could be a perfect soft for me...

Have a nice day!

Lucie
