Finger Gesture is not Working​ ​😡​

Just bought affinity designer today and fallowing some pattern tutorial on skill share. However simple things (yet very important) like creating a shape and then holding a finger to make it proportionate or selecting multiple items while holding the finger on the display, is not working . Which is really frustrating as the pattern is made of the same shapes, so selecting it in layers menu doesn't really help when you want to pick exact shape from the canvas. Sometimes finger doesn't register at all or it acts like a selection tool. I select a shape press my finger onto display and it just deselects the previous item.

Very frustrating please help.

When selecting, check context menu is set to Add.
