Hi, I'm trying to make some texture brushes which use a 2k square texture & low spacing (to be used as more of a stamp than a paintbrush). I'm using an intensity brush type, & finding it's extremely slow on a windows 10 quad core i7 pc with 16gb ram. The cpu usage maxes out & everything slows down even with a smallish brush size of a few hundred pixels.

Here's a screenshot: https://ibb.co/NpXbLZF

Is there another brush type I should be using for this, or maybe a limitation of the program? The same kind of a brush works fine in older versions of photoshop.

Thanks!

I noticed some of the splatter brushes use quite high res textures & those work fine. Does anyone know what their resolution is?
Also they seem to be round brush types due to the cursor shape, but when I make a custom round brush there's no way to add a texture in the brush nozzle menu.

Hi Matt_B and Welcome to the Forums,

Would you be able to attach the brush?  You can export it from the by following the tooltip on this page: https://affinity.help/designer/en-US.lproj/index.html?page=pages/Painting/create_custombrushes.html?title=Creating custom brushes

How does the brush perform under 100 pixels (i know that not the size you want but would be interesting to know)
