J-ONE
I was able to open an Adobe Illustrator .AI file in both designer and photo. However, I'm seeing some artifacts that changed the look of the asset. Does anyone know why or has anyone seen similar issues? I've attached a side by side compare of the .AI file opened in Affinity Designer and how the asset should look like. I've also tried exporting from Designer / Photo as a jpg and the artifact is still there. I've also attached the original .AI as well. Newbie to Affinity. Would welcome some help. firstdefence
The two arcs either side are OK, the problem is the document designer has used the mesh gradient tool which Illustrator has; obviously, but which Affinity doesn’t have, so it’s not translating the information of the mesh gradient The 3 white curves highlighted are probably the two gradient meshes for the coffee, and the 3rd is the mesh gradient for the cup. firstdefence
I’ve exported the cup and coffee for you as an SVG and as a PNG. PNG file, just right click and save or drag to your desktop. Cup and Coffee.svg In the SVG change the layer highlighted in the image below to multiply. firstdefence
You could probably emulate the gradient mesh with layers of shapes using gradients and transparency in Affinity Designer.
