Menyanthes Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 I just bought Affinity Publisher 1.8.3 running on an iMac with Sierra 10.12.6 and 8GB ram. I was creating a file, working on Master pages and all of a sudden I cannot save any changes - every time I hit Save the program crashes. So I cannot make any progress, the software is currently useless to me. Quote
Menyanthes Posted April 9, 2020 Author Posted April 9, 2020 I have since tried re-installing Publisher from my downloads and also re-downloaded the program from Serif. Neither of these worked. Quote
Old Bruce Posted April 10, 2020 Posted April 10, 2020 Did you buy Publisher from Serif/Affinity's store or from the Mac App Store? Is Publisher in your Applications folder on your iMac's hard drive? I run a MacBook with OS !0.12.6 and have no problem making or saving files. How much free space is on your iMac's hard drive, this can be a source of problems if it is not large enough for writing swap files to. I like to have about 50% free, but you would need about 10% minimum depending on how large/small the drive is. Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6 Affinity Designer 2.5.7 | Affinity Photo 2.5.7 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.7 | Beta versions as they appear. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
Menyanthes Posted April 10, 2020 Author Posted April 10, 2020 Bought Publisher from Serif, installed it in the Applications folder. I have a 1TB hard drive, less than half full. This morning I deleted the following file: com.seriflabs.affinitypublisher.plist but that had no effect. Now building new file, creating Master pages, inserted one photo as a test and so far it is working. I have saved many times as I build the file. Basically keepping my fingers crossed. Quote
