Exporting to Photos

Recommended Posts

Another beginner question. I must be missing something basic. Trying to export edited photos to Photos on my iPad. It seems that all I can do is dump finished image in to "all photos", which is a pain as it drops it by date. I don't really want to have to search for every photo I edit. There has to be a way to export to a specific folder, right?

The export options are varied and I'm sure great for many needs. But there really should be a way to select multiple photos and  easily place them elsewhere.

I watched the tutorial on exporting, and Googled a bit. No help. I think what I want to do is too simple...

Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm liking this app, but again and again it just feels way too complex for me/my needs. Maybe that feeling will change as I use it more and gain familiarity, but I have my doubts.

If you tap Share and tap Save image your exported photo is saved in Photos library. No choice of location. If you tap ok instead of Share, you open into Files and can select any folder on your iPad or cloud storage. Note Photo library is not available as a destination but you can blame Apple for that. I prefer to use Do unenthusiastic by Readdle to create all my folders and then through AP select the folder I want to use for storage.

yes I agree. This has been requested a number of times. Maybe one day.

It is reasonable complex because it has so many powerful features. It becomes easier with use. Just need to realise there are several Personas each dealing with specific functions and having there own set of tools. 🙂

M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB   lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen).
Affinity Photo 1.10.5 Affinity Design 1.10.5
Affinity Publisher 2, Affinity Designer 2, Affinity Photo 2 and betas.

Thank you.  That's what I was able to accomplish.  Good to know I wasn't missing something obvious. I'll check out Readdle.  That's a new one for me.

That part definitely feels like more than I need an app to do.  I'm not saying AP is bad.  I've shot Olympus quite a bit.  I know many people hate the UI, saying it is overly complicated.  I'm a big fan though.  AP is likely the same.  We'll see what happens.
