kaveldun21 Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 Then I go from an edit in C1 and opens a file (tif, jpeg, CR2) in Affinity and after eg cloning / developing / and then closes the image and the image ends up as a copy in C1. However, if I do the same with a * .dng file then the copy does not go to C1 but then it ends up in "Finder" and I have to import it back to C1. Am I the one doing something wrong or having a wrong attitude in something of C1 or Affinity? or can't C1 - Affinity fully manage * .dng files? Quote
Staff stokerg Posted February 24, 2020 Staff Posted February 24, 2020 Hi kaveldun21 and Welcome to the Forums, I've just tried this and when i selected a DNG file and clicked Edit With Affinity Photo, it offered to send a TIF file to Affinity, which i accepted. The edits i then made got saved back to a TIF file, which showed up in C1 and the Finder Folder i loaded it from. Can you confirm the full work flow of selecting the image in C1 and then sending that to Affinity. Only time i can see this being an issue, is if you use the Open With command from C1 and select Affinity as that would pass the DNG file and as we can't save/export DNG i'd expect you to be offered the option to save an afphoto file when closing it in Affinity. kaveldun21 Posted February 24, 2020 Author Posted February 24, 2020 My workflow for the * .dmg file * .dmg file exposure was adjusted in C1. via "image" and the choice edit in Affinnity, choice tiff 16 bits, the selected image was opened in Affinnity completely OK and cloned from "junk", then "file" "save" the image did not appear in C1 and a warning "creation of proxy failed "tiff file ended up in" finder "but not in C1. Retry Affinity "develop" do not close file to Finder to C1 Retrying, new adjustment in Affinity "file" "Save" no tiff file in C1 but as before in Finder. Quote
kaveldun21 Posted February 24, 2020 Author Posted February 24, 2020 (edited) In I missed typing, all returned files to the Finder were * .tiff! Hi Most to play a bit I did the same editing on a * .dng file on my MAC PRO laptop and where the edited tiff file comes in the right place C1 as desired and also in as * .tiff in the laptop's Finder. Versions of C120Pro Laptop, Build 13.0.1.19 and iMAC 13.0.2.19 and Version Affinity on laptop 1.7.3 and iMAC 1.7.3 Could it be a version problem in C1? Edited February 24, 2020 by kaveldun21 Quote
