Anybody knows how to fix this?
Dan C
Hi mookui, Welcome to the forums This is certainly a very strange issue and not one I've encountered previously! Could you please confirm for me: What version of Windows OS are you running? The build number from 'winver' would be useful here. What is the model of the 4K monitor you're connecting? Is this being connected as a secondary monitor, or are you replacing your main monitor? Many thanks in advance!
mookui
I use windows 7 pro, video card Nvidia NVC510. I used Affinity on the same computer with two Dell 2711 monitors and it worked fine. I replaced one of the monitors with Dell 2718Q 4k monitor, another one was same 2711. Then I replaced Del2711 with second Dell 2718Q 4k monitor. Affinity stopped working and start generating Windows Aero not enable message. I updated Nvidea driver - did not help. I put back one of my old monitors, another one I left Dell 2718Q- it fixed the problem. I both Dell 2718Q - it stopped working again. I check in Personalize - Aero Themes is selected. Dan C
Thanks for confirming that for me, I recommend checking out the following link as this covers the issue reported - https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/aero-issues-multiple-monitors-solved-partially.1310172/ As you can see, the 2GB of video memory in your NVS510 GPU may be enough to run both 4k monitors, but there isn't enough overflow for Windows to run Aero. Unfortunately the only option, should you wish to continue to use the 4k monitors & Aero is to upgrade your existing card/add an additional GPU to increase your video memory. Unfortunately this is a limitation of Windows 7 and is unfortunately beyond our control! EDIT - If you don't want to use the Aero theme you can try the workaround in the below FAQ -
