Glassmon Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 I'm trying to create a png video overlay. I have a jpg with a texture pattern and I need to remove rectangles to expose the alpha channel below, much like cutting shapes out of cardboard for a photo collage. I assumed this would be pretty basic, but nothing that comes up in search results anywhere (here, YouTube and other forums) are on point. I've created the project in Photo, which is the size of the video I'm producing, with a transparent background. I placed the jpg over the transparent background, with the shapes I need to remove on top of the jpg. I typically can figure things like this out, but I've spent a fair amount of time and this has me stumped. Any help would be appreciated. Quote
Staff Lee D Posted January 24, 2020 Staff Posted January 24, 2020 If you wish to remove the shapes from the JPEG, select the shape on the Layers panel. Change the layers blend mode to Erase, repeat for the other shapes. Once this is complete you have then use File > Export and select PNG. Quote
Glassmon Posted January 24, 2020 Author Posted January 24, 2020 Thank you very much. Simple to do, but I could have spent several more hours looking for the solution and still not found it. Quote
