Tallspaceman Posted January 19, 2020 Posted January 19, 2020 I am stitching scanned images that are too large to capture in one scan. There is a lot of overlap between scans and Affinity Photo has no trouble aligning the images. In the final composition, however, color and clarity are affected. The overall image gets darker and more blurry. Fine details are lost. Is there any way to prevent this from happening? In this image you can see that the border on the composite panorama (left) appears darker and more "dirty" than the source image (right). It may be hard to see with these compressed images, but the composite panorama (left) appears more blurry than the source image (right). The panorama image is blurry. Fine details are lost. The difference between the uncompressed files on my screen is very noticeable. Quote

The blurring could be caused by the pixel position of each stitched image, which does not match the original. Then one source pixel is mapped to two/four, so some dissolution occurs.
