Andrew Tunney Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 Evening everyone, This one is doing my head in, I'm a new user of Affinity so I may be missing something very simple... I'm trying to create a panorama out of three photos I took of a storm front on Friday evening but once I click the button to stitch them it says no panorama found? I have used Affinity Photo to create one other pano previously to which it worked incredibly well. For some reason, I can't upload the images (roughly 5.8mb each) receiving a -200 error, so have provided a screenshot of the images that I am trying to use. As you can see they should be able to be stitched together and it *should* make a reasonable photo, does Affinity have any limitations on Pano's (eg. must comprise at least 5 images)? Hoping i'm just doing something wrong... Windows 10 version Cheers, Andrew. Quote
firstdefence Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 Probably not enough overlay to be able to match points, from the look of those images they are butt joined i.e no overlap, you need to take images with an overlap of at least 30% of the previous image to get a good pano. So for that image you should have about 5 images, an even better idea is to take the panorama with the camera vertical, and just take more images maybe 7 or 8 this gives you more latitude for cropping and if you have a good sky it can make the pano look epic. It might be possible to create those two images from the three by making a file and adding the images together, then selectively making a few crops and exporting that crop and then undoing it and repeating the process a second I time.
