Affinity Photo Access to Image Files not working in Catalina

Recommended Posts

Hi, on MacOS Catalina, the command "Place" does not work - all image files such as .jpg, .png etc. are greyed out in the menu. Affinity Photo has access to open files such as .ai, .afphoto. On System Preferences/Security & Privacy/Privacy, Affinity Photo is given Access to Files and folders in the Documents Folder.

Hi BernhardS,

Welcome to the forums :)

This sounds like an odd issue! I'm not getting this behaviour here, please could you try opening the app with the CTRL key held down and when the reset menu appears click Select All then Clear to see if this solves your issue?

Thanks

I've reinstalled Affinity (restarted Mac in between de- and re-installation). Problem persist. On opening AP I get a message that I have to authorize AP to access files. I choose authorize global and MacHD/Users. No change. btw opening the .afphoto is no problem, it is just the "place" command.
