I have been using Affinity photo for about 3 weeks now and everything has been working fine. I didn't change or switch anything but for the past 4 days, eraser won't work. The brush shows up but it's not erasing anything. It was stuck and spinning. I deleted the software and all of its components from my mac and reinstalled. There's no spinning but eraser won't erase anything. Actually all the tools are not working. Brush and the rest are all not working.  This is very disappoint as I purchased Affinity instead of photoshop.  I bought something that I should be able to use but unfortunately it's not working. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you

Welcome to the forum,

Launch the app with (ctrl) held down until a Clear User Data dialog appears. Press the Select All button then press the Clear button. Note this will reset everything to app defaults - user preferences, palettes, macros, everything. If you want to reset just the UI and user prefs leave just the first three checkboxes ticked and press the Clear button.

Thank you very much! It's working now. Do I have to repeat this often?

Normally just a one shot fix, so unless you are very unlucky I doubt you will need to use it again anytime soon, personally I've never used it.
