  1. Will after purchase be possible use one purchased license / serial to use both for mac an for windows version? (after windows version released)? As far as I know adobe allows for 2 machines per user, just not sure if even crossplatform. Because i believe that woulb be great for some people living "in both worlds" I ask as I would like after purchase to have one installation on my windows pc at home, and one on my iMac at work, will that be possible ?
  2. I'm thinking of buying both of these products, but I'm getting nervous since I was told that Designer will only have free updates for another year, and Photo will have Two years. I'm not sure what this means. Will I have to pay to get new features in a year? What's the plan? Will there be cheaper upgrade packs for previous users? Does it really make sense to even buy at all, or maybe just wait a year to prolong the update cycle? Any thoughts / knowledge on this topic would be appreciated. Thanks, ERK.
  3. Hi there, I've been using Affinity Designer on my own laptop for a year now (Well done btw!), and having started a new position, I wanted to install Affinity on my work laptop. However, the IT dept here block the App Store. I've asked if those restrictions can be lifted and it's a non starter. Is there ANY way to purchase Affinity Designer other than going through the App Store? Many thanks.
  4. Hi guys, Beatiful work on this App. Definitely mentioning this to my students. Can I buy the App as a gift for someone else or is the machine it's downloaded on the one you're stuck with? Thanks
  5. A week or so ago I moved purchased Designer (from the AppStore) and Photo Beta to a new user on the same machine where they were already installed. Since the original old user preferences and config were in the old user directory they both started up as if first time after install. No problems - I imported some saved palettes etc. from the old user and all worked fine. On release day I installed the purchased Photo from the AppStore. So I now have both purchased apps running. I then downloaded the Designer Beta into the new user. On start up I got the message "A purchased copy of Affinity Designer must be installed to use this beta" .......... which it is. I presumed that the beta was looking for some library file that showed proof of purchase which was now "widowed" in the old user. So I uninstalled Designer and Designer beta using an uninstaller (CleanApp) to remove as many as I could of the ancillary library files as well and pave the way for a clean install into the new user. I then installed Designer again from the AppStore this time directly into the new user and ran it to get it to create any support files that it may do on its first start up. I then installed Designer Beta the same way. No go! I still get the message that I need a purchased copy. So to recap: Purchased Designer and Photo are both installed directly from AppStore into New user. Original purchase and previous Designer install was to old user. Designer Beta cannot find whatever it needs to establish presence of Designer Purchase. Any ideas please ? David Mac
  6. Hi friends, Just announcing that I have purchased Affinity Photo and hope to have made the best investment with it. I wrote some question yesterday about me no being able to use the "edit in AD or in APH" tool. As I figured out, once that the purchase has been effective, the tool is ready to be used, right now. I will be in contact as I will investigate and practice with the app and have the same confidense that you have granted me when any help is needed from you all, I wish myself a "bon voyage"!!!! in this Affinity Photo adventure. Greetings from Bilbao, Spain. Rosa
  7. Just as the title says. I did a fresh install of Yosemite on my MacBook Pro after getting my logic board replaced and now Affinity Designer is gone and there is no listing in the AppStore to allow me to re-install. Anyone know how I can fix this? Thanks in advance... -N
  8. Is there going to be an option to buy this from you directly outside the App Store? The reason being, in many creative agencies the designers don't own the software or machines they are working on, thus not being able to use a personal apple ID on a given machine in a department of say 20 or 30 designers split between two buildings. I also know I'm not going to set up a bogus Apple ID for all the machines to download a copy and tie a credit card to it. (Apple just makes buying theses kinds of apps in a corporate setting really hard.) Just curious on how this would work? Are you offering multi-licensing for business?
  9. Hi folks, I'm holding the plastic now until bed time. I'm chomping at the bit here: hurry up Appstore/time zone. It would be nice to see who was first and second and third etc, past the post in buying AD and how it the experience was for all who invested in first release from Nottingham's finest, Affinity. The -Plus team over on Windows has done a great job over the years and Affinity will also do the same here on the Mac. Happy launch day team. Hope the champers go down well! Happy hangover. :D peter.
