  1. Hi ... I created a new style from a square document that included multiple little squares that each had a stroke and gradient fill. I then exported the document as a jpg file. After that, I created a new document and made a large square shape with the bitmap fill from that jpg file and added it as a style. I proceeded to create a rectangle and used the new style, but the little squares stretched out to be rectangular in shape, instead of maintaining the squares that I wanted to use for the shape (please see my screenshot). I would like to know how to add the style to a rectangle or other non-proportionate shape with the same proportions of the style itself. How do I accomplish that?
  2. I'm trying to create a bitmap fill and save it as a style. But when I try to apply it to a different shape, the aspect ratio of the fill style isn't preserved. Instead, it takes on the aspect ratio of the new object. I've tried locking and unlocking the aspect ratio of the bitmap fill before I create the style, and neither one works. I find that fixing the aspect ratio after the fact is more fiddly than just re-importing the bitmap every single time. So I'm fine with re-importing if that's the best option. What am I missing? File attached, although I'm not sure it'll be useful. Thanks in advance! bmpfill.afdesign
  3. Bitmap fills are great to quickly add certain textures. When copying and pasting style however, both scale and aspect ratio get screwed up with pattern fills. Lets try copy and paste styles and see what happens: Kapture 2023-09-11 at 07.58.23.mp4 Often, you want the texture to appear at the same size, however the object scale affects the pattern scale. Often, you want the texture to not stretch or distort. 'Maintain Fill Aspect Ratio' should fix this, however the object dimensions also affect the pattern applied.
  4. Hello, I'm having some issues with the bitmap fill and styles. In these two screenshots I have been trying to adjust this architectural concrete fill pattern into a style so that I can copy and paste it into whatever shapes I have. The issue I'm having is that the bitmap fill seems to distort differently depending on the shape of the object. I've tried playing around with the settings, and no matter what, I keep having this issue. Let me know if you need additional info. -Matt Picture 1: I create the fill based on one shape. Picture 2: It distorts in a weird way in this shape.
