  1. Hi ... I created a new style from a square document that included multiple little squares that each had a stroke and gradient fill. I then exported the document as a jpg file. After that, I created a new document and made a large square shape with the bitmap fill from that jpg file and added it as a style. I proceeded to create a rectangle and used the new style, but the little squares stretched out to be rectangular in shape, instead of maintaining the squares that I wanted to use for the shape (please see my screenshot). I would like to know how to add the style to a rectangle or other non-proportionate shape with the same proportions of the style itself. How do I accomplish that?
  2. @iconoclast @v_kyr Apologies for not having gotten back to you sooner ... got sick with the flu and had to recover. I will attach the file here. I think that, in its current state, it is un-editable. I had sourced the original file from Ai (which was an image file) and then converted it online to PDF. It has no layers, though, so I was just wondering if there was a way to isolate the various different design elements therein, so I can use them in a design project of my own. If there is no way to edit this file in its current state, any ideas on how to approach this in order to extract the various elements would be welcome! 3. @v_kyrI wish I could do that lol ... I cannot edit this design at all. It has multiple components to it but it is a flat image with no editable layers at this moment. Is there a way to get the editable layers? Releasing it somehow?
  4. Hi there: I have an image file that I exported into pdf and also in svg, but I am not able to edit it at all in Affinity Designer v2. Is there a way to make those files editable?
  5. @v_kyr Thanks for this ... I didn't consider using rectangles before. That's a better option, especially since I can make them as thick or thin as I want.
  6. I am creating curved shapes where i want to have a gradient follow the path of them. What I mean is to have the gradient go across the width of it, but to follow the curved shape that I have created. all along it, instead of using one of the presets (linear, eliptical, raidail, etc.) which don't do this. How do i accomplish this exactly?
  7. I would like to know how to join two lines created with the pen tool, that are different colors, as per the screenshot … I would like to have them join and cap off at the top like the top line which is created as one line with the pen tool.
  8. @v_kyr The files showed themselves as being Affinity Photo files, although they were created and saved in Affinity Designer. They all turned themselves back after editing and re-saving one of them In Affinity Designer.
  9. @walt.farrell Okay, so now this is odd. There must be something that switches the file types back and forth from Affinity Designer files to Affinity Photo files and then back again lol. I had them all displaying the Affinity Photo icon instead of the Affinity Designer icon on my desktop, even the ones on my USB drive. They were all previously designed in Designer. I tried to edit one of them in Affinity Designer but couldn't before. Then I tried another file and I was able to edit it in Affinity Designer. I later decided to save it in Affinity Designer then, lo and behold, ALL of the files are now displaying the Affinity Designer icon. Why did all of that happen? Was that some sort of temporary glitch? Not sure what happened there, but I’m glad that they’re all back now!
  10. I'm in a bit of a pickle here! For some reason ALL of my Affinity Designer files (I am using v 2) have been replaced by uneditable Affinity Photo files! How can this be happening, and how do I turn them back? Even the ones on my USB drive are turned into Photo files. I was recently looking at some images in my image folder and chose to use Affinity Photo to view them, but why are all my Affinity Designer files now Affinity Photo files instead? Please help me with this. Thanks.
  11. I am interested in purchasing a MacBook Pro. Currently I have a desktop PC and an iPad Pro. When I get the MacBook Pro, I know that I must purchase a new download for Affinity Designer v2, as well as all the other Affinity software. But since I had already created multiple designs on my PC, using the PC version of Affinity, will there be any compatibility issues when I decide to upload and work on my existing designs that were done on the PC to my MacBook Pro?
