  1. Thank you, Patrick, and Josegt80. I meant no disrespect regarding language; I thought something had happened. This has been a pretty rough year, and many individuals and businesses have had to scramble. I appreciate the conversation that happens in these forums. I recognize that our friends here live all over the Earth, speak many different languages. I respect those for whom English is not their first language, and who make important contributions to the collective discussion.
  2. what I mean is can I convert an illustration now in an artboard to a non-artboard illustration while keeping the art as-is..leaving me with a non-artboarded document? Thank you!
  3. I've had this happen twice lately. Mac version 1.8.4 I open an image, then change a color in the color wheel for use by a brush. when I change the color in the color wheel, the entire image is tinted with whatever color I choose. I have not selected all and put some kind of modification layer. I believe the images open with the Hand tool active. Anyone else?
  4. Initially, I felt the same. After making use of Designer's artboard tool, those feelings evaporated. Artboards aren't pages, but they're more alike than not. Having the trio on iPad, especially the way they work together..sounds to me like graphics heaven.
  5. Your scheme sounds good, and I assume it could also be done ON the iPad? I am not interested in using iCloud, and I hate the feeling of being slowly corralled into using it.
  6. I just rebooted the iPad, re-launched Affinity. File not there. Tried to open from the Files app. File not there. Something is gravely ill here. Files app shows the file is there, inside Affinity Designer folder. Affinity Designer can not open it because it does not see this file which Fill app shows as there, modified yesterday afternoon at 3:20pm. Where could the file have gone and why am I being shown non-truth as to where this file is, and how many instances of it there are? PS: I was able to move the file from Files to a USB Drive, then back to files. From there the file opened in Designer. I’m mystified as to the origin of this problem.
  7. **Also, I just closed one of the “instances” of the file in question on Affinity’s home screen. The other instance remained, but then got a spinning gear, as though saving. That was over a minute ago. Its tile is now black, spinning gear still going.. I just quit Affinity, and re-launched it, and the 2nd instance of that file is now gone!! The copy or instance in Files is still there. Browser metaphors aside, I simply feel my trust in what I’m seeing unravelling. I feel very concerned that I can not trust what I’m seeing.. Are my files there or are they not? Which is which? These are questions requiring a hard, firm, resounding answer. Either yes or no, not kinda-sorta, sometimes it’s here, sometimes it’s there. Help, Please!
  8. Based on the timestamp of that affinity designer file - the timestamp I see in the Files app, I’m pretty sure that that file is saved to On My iPad > Files > Affinity Designer. Using your Safari Tabs metaphor, Paul, I have no idea how or why there’d by 2 instances of a file on the Affinity home screen. When I see duplicate files - whatever the reason - I get a queasy feeling that, right there, before my eyes, is evidence that I’ve lost control of my files. To me, this does not feel good at all. It’s most worrisome.
  9. I mean that in the Affinity "home" folder - within Affinity Designer, I see 2 tiles of the same drawing. They have the same name, and when I open them, they contain the same things I drew. That seems puzzling..I did not knowingly duplicate the drawing, not sure how it could've happened. Thank you, Dan
  10. Yes, Dan C, that is most helpful. What’s the cause when there are 2 instances of a drawing in the Affinity forum? I didn’t (knowlingly) make a duplicate of it..both contain the same things, have same name, yet have different “tiles” in the Affinity home folder. Thank you for any clarification on this bit!
  11. I’m still having a problem maybe visualizing the difference between Designer and Photo’s own “gallery” / file storage place, and Affinity apps’ folders within the iPad OS Files app. Sometimes, I see things in both places, wondering which is the “real” one..I want to manage my files, and know with certainty where things are, and know which is which. Thank you!
  12. All due respect, before the pandemic hit, there was information - from Affinity, I believe - that Publisher for iPad would arrive a year after the Desktop version was released. That would put it at this past summer, approximately. I get why current events have changed everyone's plans - software developers included, but I can also understand why so many are interested in the status of great software, such as that produced by the Affinity team. 😀
  13. Paul; Just to be clear, you’re saying that the initial problems Affinity had with iPad OS 14 - including the jumping color wheel and issues adding fonts - have been cleared up by updates to iPad OS 14? Thank you..I want to clarify before I consider upgrading to 14.x
  14. Can the Affinity developers create a larger "zone" for grabbing the bottoms of Studio Palettes for the purpose of re-sizing them? Seems the software has a 1-pixel-wide grab zone. My hands are quite steady, I have excellent coordination, but it's very difficult to hit that tight of a zone for re-sizing palettes. This seems to be a trend or issue across lots of software publisher's apps. Makes working with software needlessly tedious. Screen recording attached shows what I'm talking about. Thank you! grabbing_palette.mov
  15. Could the direction user drags to increment up or down be changed so that increment up is done horizontally, and decrement is done diagonally? Either swipe could be done in left-or-right mode. the current swipe down to decrement works fine bcs there’s plenty of screen below. But for swiping up to increment, there’s comparatively no place to swipe to. thank you
  16. Is this by design? Seems more like a bug. I can turn off “check spelling” with the red squiggles under the words, but it won’t stay off. Hugely disruptive and interfering with the design process, especially when working with lorem ipsum. could it be fixed so that turning it off keeps it off until / unless user turns it back on? Please?
  17. ..in terms of processing required by an iPad Pro, response / lag of brushes? certain brushes are a bit laggy, and I’m uncertain of the cause: big document, or the nature of those brushes..sometimes watercolor, sometimes regular basic brush.
  18. that really did seem to help greatly! I didn't think of iPad as a device requiring such measures but I guess any computer devices' brain can get clogged with hairballs..
