  1. macPro 2008 macOS Sierra Nvidia Web Drivers 2 x GTX 970 single document 2200x2200 px drawing a guide line of the image results into stop motion If I make the image smaller it is all fine which starts to work better at around 1000x1000px NOTE: I also experience the same issue on Designer !!! I uploaded a screencast of that. drag issue.mov
  2. Affinity has the ability to set the rotation center in the transform toolbox and you can set it with the boundary box (and place it also outside). when rotating the object Affinity remembers the values. that's pretty good like local mode in Blender. If it then would allow to select certain nodes and scale them along that rotation vector it would be fantastic.
  3. Hi there, while I like Affinities new approach to creating art, they looked over some still must have tools like node align or a scale tool for selected nodes. Hopefully they will add it soon Freehand Gravit AI they all have it for a reason.
  4. I did not see it on the road map. This is such a must have tool to be honest - I am a little surprised that it was not yet included considering how awesome Affinity otherwise is. If you make many cartoons with organic shapes you might not need it - but with linear shapes and zick zack patterns and such you will.
  5. Affinity Designer offers live booleans that just do that on the fly and you can do the same also with cropping and clipping. Drag n drop in the layers do that very well.
  6. Affinity seems only to allow to add an effect like inner shadow one time. Often you want to use those more than once tho here is a simple illustration from Gravit. They just add effects as many as you want to an object.
  7. On macOS most apps like Pixelmator can directly import from the scanner using the build in scanner printer driver. Photoshop will use the scanner plug-in Would be great if Affinity could do the same
  8. Affinity has a nice way to snap the length of a handle to the length of the other handle. but in most cases I want to be able to pull one handle and let the other mirror the length. here is a screencast how the mirror option works in Gravit: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Byzv_NlyKp_2bndBZmRTWUtYY1U/view
  9. Either via transformation boundary box like in Gravit https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Byzv_NlyKp_2Qk51a00zWG9uSm8/view or via a transformation tool like pressing S defending a scalding center and then move the mouse to scale and rotate around it If I missed this in Affinity please let me know. Using the transformation window doing symmetrical scaling is not really ideal
  10. I was surprised to see no scale or node transformation tool. This seems kinda must have and a basic tool. Did I miss it? This is what I use in Gravit (Freehand clone) https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Byzv_NlyKp_2Qk51a00zWG9uSm8/view
  11. when using an artboard I have to set it to transparent before I can export a slice PNG with a transparent background. That feels odd and adds a lot of extra work just for exporting. Look at Gravit for example. The background is fully ignored by the slice exporter and I can hand adjust it. Thats how in Affinity this should be. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Byzv_NlyKp_2QU81N2RlT1c3b0E/view
  12. Hm from a usability stand point this is not good. I should not have to set the document background to transparent for exporting a transparent PNG slice. The exporter should be able to ignore the background of the artboard intead guys!
  13. local guides and artboards are cool as an idea but seem to have some current usability issues https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Byzv_NlyKp_2RVNQWm1PRTdIWEU/view it would be nice to device guides on a global scale running them across the canvas and let artboards places under them use them
  14. Here is a screen cast that shows the horror Designer does to guides when adding new artboards. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Byzv_NlyKp_2RVNQWm1PRTdIWEU/view it feels to me that this are needs some serious love as it seems to break things a lot. when when adding an artboard do the guides move? the guides have a tool for precise position yet I have no control over what art board they are in. it is an interesting idea to glue guides to art boards but the quick vid shows some of the current shortcomings. I rather would prefer global guides that can run across the canvas not artboard
  15. to place slices well slices should 1. snap to guide lines not just pixels 2. snap to geometry slice should include I understand that we deal with vector vs pixels as the output so the slice should match the pixels
  16. It seems Affinity does not allow you to press RMB to open a brush size menu or use a hotkey around your left hand to open a brush size slider! going to the toolbar or pressing [ ] are always long mouse or hand movements disrupting fluid workflows
  17. align seems currently only to work with objects but not nodes align 20 nodes left right etc will be faster than moving each node by hand to a guide or using snap targets
  18. in affinity designer it seems impossible to move both handles of a node symmetrically making their length the same. In Gravit that is a specific node type this is incredibly needed for symmetrical work in product illustrations
  19. Affinity designer offers a rotate tool that lacks the rotation center a user could position by hand very handy!
  20. This will keep Designers file size lower and allows me to continue working on the raw images and Designer will refresh the new edits automatically. If this is possible so for posting this - I googled it and did not find anything
  21. I am Claas Kuhnen - teach in industrial design at wayne state in Detroit Michigan and run my own design studio. Been with Adobe and Macromedia since they came out! Happy to finally have found better options!
  22. This works incredibly well. Nearly zero lag. Connected via USB 2 port on MacPro 2008 Using Regular res to make image a tick bigger on iPadPro Pen Pressure is supported. Delivers smooth strokes without any UI screen artifacts
