I was not clear - a thousand mea culpas - I'm not stitching I'm "stacking" different exposures / waves / focus etc for making a comp from all the layers so I want them to overlay each other in "perfect" registration. Does my question make more sense now ? In PTGui Pro I can force a stitch on different layers by manual assigning point's but it's a much more longer winded process - I was hoping for something that could automate it for me but with more control than Ablowme PS "Align Layers" which although simple fails often such that I've had to resort to manual pixel nudging for mod cases. Thx

This is very definitely a bug - EXR spec's and workflow is specifically designed to allow both arbitrary multiple "layers/channels" as well as support for image data that fall outside the bounding box of the visible data ! Cropping inside of Nuke prior to exporting destroys that data and so make's the workflow useless. AP should correctly support the display of all pixel data with a properly set pixel origin without having to disable "Include Margins" and presumably making the data unavailable for use. Again it's a bug for sure since it doesn't correctly follow the spec.

Why does this keep happening in Affinity ? It appears like you are dynamically assigning the size of the bounding box of the extents of the active area as you create / paint it by adding brush strokes. End result being though that new brush strokes keep getting clipped to the absolute extents of the previous outermost brush stroke resulting in only being able to "fill in" the previous brush stroke and newer soft edged stokes being truncated and "hard edged" ? What's going on here ?

Annoying: Workspace resizes different tool tabs

I'd like to + 1 on this as a feature request ! -
Ok working - thx, here's hoping for a more automated installation procedure !

FWIW - I just downloaded the public beta and tried this and I cannot get any Nik plugins to load on my m/c.

As described this is not working for me ? 1. There is no "save function" in the Gradient dropdown swatches panel - perhaps there should be but OK I'll go to the global "Swatches" panel instead. 2. Every time I press the add button all I'm getting is a solid fill - no gradient, what am I missing here - the built in help doesn't really say anything about it as far as I can see ? Thx

"Add a 50% grey point to the center of your gradient, and then adjust the fall off on either side to get more or less smoothing?" Way to many steps - let me rephrase, I would like to be able to set a preset gradient of "type" Gaussian distribution with default colours of white to black and be able to apply it as my default gradient simply and quickly whilst retaining the ability to adjust anchor points interactively ?!

The problem :- Seamlessly joining image's of very similar but nonetheless slightly different colors / intensities can be damn near impossible with mask's generated using the Linear Gradient tool. In the Linear Gradient image note how "triangular" / abrupt the transition is at the extremes of the transitions - this sharp transition means that any slight differences on otherwise flat seamless images will always be visible. The solution is simple - applying a Gaussian distribution function to the gradient results in the nice soft edges shown by the Gaussian Gradient image which will render joins invisible in a far wider range of cases. The use case I'm thinking of is seamlessly panning and tiling images and/or blending focus stacks or exposure layers in images using gradient mask's So before you go there, yes of course I can do editing filtering on the mask's after the fact but I'd much rather be able to see a live blend and perfect / adjust it while still editing the gradient. Latest Affinity Photo 1.8.1 and Nik 2.5 on non Adobe infected m/c - still unable to detect plugins ?? Was 1.8.1 MAS intended to fix this or are we still waiting ?

In case it matters: MacPro 2013 10 Core 2x D700 64Gb Ram Mac OS Sierra, Affinity Photo Latest, Nuke 11.5vx > latest Repro Steps: Open supplied Nuke script. Export 1 fr of cropped/bounding box exr. Open and edit in Affinity > export with default exr options. Import edited exr into nuke and compare with original. Result : Imported file is the wrong size / bbox is reset to original image size +/- 1 pixel. Attached vendor neutral images and nuke script. exr_crop_bug.zip

Trying to round trip simple Nuke/Foundry > Affinity Photo > Nuke/Foundry in order to exploit Affinity's ability to work in scene linear float color space. Source file is UHD4K 3048x2160 with a visible area of 1280x720 clipped by bounding box. After working in Affinity and exporting back into Nuke I end up with a file that is 6400x3600 with the bounding box resized to 3050x2162 w the origin set to Top Left Why ? Have tried hard but can't seem to find any workaround this just seems to be broken ! Enc screenshots but have had to obscure picture content for confidentiality.

File Format Support - DPX
Andrew Mumford posted a topic in Feedback for Affinity Photo V1 on Desktop
Please add dpx format support -
I'm 57 and on my old but functional Thunderbolt display even with the UI Font size set to Large readability is borderline - I can't imagine the pain I would be in on a 4K Monitor or worse. Please add at least one levels beyond the current "Large" - its very telling that all your videos seem to made on Mac laptop's on which the UI seems great but that's not reflective of people doing this all day who need more real estate. Thx
