  1. Hello On affinity publisher I have this book. Chapter 1 is the origin of all styles and I was trying to sync up all adjustment but the changes I've done to the Master Page A (in this example) aren't reflected on the other chapters. I made a little video showing how I do it. Affinity Publisher 2.mp4
  2. One more thing, @Dan C!!!! I've been working with Publisher and Photo a lot lately so I've had the chance to compare. The Publisher document dimensions are 3497 x 2481 if I export the 2 pages as a PNG (attached) and I can tell you that using Photo persona from Publisher performs better than Photo alone. Dimensions are almost the same as the used on the test (3000px square) I'm available if you and the team wants me to share screen and see what's up. Thanks for following this up.
  3. Hello @Dan C I'm attaching a video recorded on Camtasia so you can see the cursor moving and the performance of the input. On the video I did the tests. Same document dimensions as before, same brush, same trace. The changes were on the input on high, low and windows ink. Following the windows ink test, which was the best of them all, I followed to replicate the previous test creating a canvas, drawing, then close, create a canvas with same dimensios but less dpi, close it and then create again the 3000px square canvas on 300dpi and the performance is shown clearly. Ranked in performance and precission: Windows Ink High Precission Low Precission I'm using a Wacom Intuos PTS tablet, Model CTH-490 with driver version 6.3.46-1 (latest driver) Answers to questions: I lowered the RAM because it didn't mattered if I gave it the whole 32GB or set it as before the Ram upgrade, so I decided to keep the Ram at 50% of total just for tests. I didn't see a real difference giving it more ram. I did change from RGB to CMYK and I found out that CMYK was performing waaay better than the RGB. I didn't recorded on video but it was noticeably better on the same tests. photo2.mp4
  4. Hello @Dan C I found something. On the video you'll see these steps: I open photo with a 3000 x 3000 at 300dpi canvas Show current performance set up Select Osaka Brush from Frankentoon Neptune I make some quick drawings and you'll see that the performance is like slow or jumpy. Then I close the program and open it again (around min 1:42) Do the same steps. Open a 3000px square canvas at 300dpi I have the same performance set up Select the same brush Make another quick drawings and you'll see again it is jumpy and slow BUT wait... there's more. At Min 2:50 I open another 3000px square canvas, reduce the resolution to 144 Same brush, same quick drawing, same slow performance Then I close all the canvas, and open again a 3000px square canvas at 300dpi Same quick drawing but this time it performs as expected. I noticed now that the video didn't record the mouse pointer when I was doing the drawings but there was a gap between where the pointer was and where the trace was showing up. This gap between mouse pointer and trace didn't appear on the very last test (point 3 and 4 of last test) So... Yes. I can work with this. It means I have to open a canvas, close it and open again to work but, Is there a way you can submit this to developers? af-photo-bug.mp4
  5. Is this something that has sprung out with updates? Because I don't remember having this bug before and now that I'm working again with Publisher is that this is happening. Thanks for the first-aid solution. It will help me work with less hassle until they fix this.
  6. Hello! I found out that every time I make a selection, it shifts some pixels up and left. This is all the time but today I also found out that when I combine layers, the same shift happens Attached video and this video link are the same. Please see video at: https://cloud.xsplit.com/c/01G1NWRNFKEFKJ3FN1KQQ1GVS2 On the video I show my performace settings and also show both bugs. Affinity Publisher.mp4
  7. Thank you for replying!!! I will do as requested and will update this topic as soon as possible.
  8. Yep. Nvidia dedicated and still the same performance. But I already did all the combinations listed below. All the combinations had the same RAM (27GB out of a 32GB max) and same disk space so it leave us with these combinations: forced Nvidia GPU with OpenCL (best performance) forced Nvidia GPU without OpenCL Intel with OpenCL Intel without OpenCL Warp with OpenCL Warp without OpenCL Automatic with OpenCL Automatic without OpenCL I can make a video of each of the settings if you wish. I also noted that I have to be merging layers to improve performance because if I have 8 layers, for example, then I start experiencing a slow performance. Questions: Could this be related to RAM or resolution and not GPU? Do you have like a table or something I can follow to make more tests? This is also happening to certain brushes only. Could this be related to the brushes instead of the performance of the software? I have these brushes: I haven't tried yet with the default brushes that come with the software. All my brushes were bought from the Affinity store.
  9. Update: I updated the drivers and unchecked the OpenCL option. The driver update gave me a little better performance but after trying all options, I stayed with the optimized options accoring to nvidia gforce experience. The other options without the hardware acceleration didn't proof to be better. @Dan C A little discovery: I found out that whenever you work with sizes over 1080 x 1080, the program goes on a stall and reacts slooooowly. This is for Affinity Photo and Publisher (using photo) so far. On Affinity Publisher it reacts super slow using certain brushes. I optimized the performance of affinity Publisher and photo allowing them to use 25GB ram (I have 32gb) and a Nitro 5 Acer Laptop with 2 SSD and 1 hybrid disk. Diagnostics: The program lowers it's performance whenever I add more and more layes. At the moment of this post I'm using 8 layers and it's pretty slow. I have to combine the layers and then keep drawing. So far the brushes that have been difficult to use are: Frankentoon Neptune Markers and Inks. For example: Liquid Tension for inks and almost all markers DAUB Paintbox Blockers: All except Robota 1 and 2 Here's a video I recorded showing my set up: https://cloud.xsplit.com/c/01G1B829DFDV1A67JVBFK0W1JZ I'll leave this video up for 4-6 weeks and then I'll delete this. Please watch.
  10. OK... here's the update. I was drawing with Christi's Comix Toolbox and DAUB Paintbox Blockers. From those 2 I was using the versatile inker from Christi's and the Robota 01 and 02 from DAUB. After enabling windows ink I saw it was behaving a bit better and those brushes were doing fine. BUT, when I change the brushes to a Gouache or use another set of tools like: DAUB W&W, Frankentoon or Rusty Nib that have any kind of effect that the Robota doesn't have then I have a poor performance of Affinity Photo and Affinity Photo used from Publisher. I have an Acer Nitro 5 with 32GB rRam and 3 disks: 2 SSDs and 1 hybrid of 2TB I also found out that it randomly goes unresponsive on the canvas but I can still use the menu and save my work before I restart everything.
  11. Hola, @Dan C I'll hold this ticket for a while. I started tweaking some settings and I enabled Windows Ink and it's behaving as desired so far. I need to test this a little more with other brushes and make sure that this is the solution, and not that this is working fine coincidentally with the brushes I use the most.
  12. Hello. I've been using Photo for digital drawing. It has been crashing a lot lately and I gave it like 80% of my whole ram for performance and I am only drawing without any othe app open. I've been using Christi's comix toolbox and the Daub Paintbox Blockers. I cannot use much of the blockers' brushes because some of them take too long to paint, others hang up the system and I end up painting with Robota1 and 2 from Daub Paintbox Blockers set.
  13. My affinity designer won't open. I can use affinity photo and publisher but designer just won't open. I don't know where to look for error logs or where to send them to since there's no techsupport email or contact at the "tech support" link on the website.
  14. Hello Whenever I put lists on 1st and 2nd level (maybe 3rd but haven't tried) and set it to justified-left it works fine until you have several paragraphs on a single bullet. last line of every paragraph extends like e x t e n d s l i k e t h i s
