  1. Thanks Walt It's annoying when it has worked so well for years. Maybe I need to reinstall the app, I think it's only following the latest update.
  2. Thanks, I've posted two more vids. One taping on the dropdown tab and the other tapping on the desktop. Both times the rulers disappear. It must be something under view menu me finks. RPReplay_Final1698657991.mov RPReplay_Final1698657278 3.MOV
  3. Using my pencil I tap on the menu - then tap on rulers and they appear. I tap on the desktop and the rulers go home I know it's operator error but where am I going wrong please? Ipad 13" 2.2.1 RPReplay_Final1698590576.mov
  4. Hi AD I need a pointy end to a stroked path rather than a rounded or square. Any thoughts. It works with a corner but not a curve. I could convert to a corner but that would mean redrawing my beautiful curves. 2nd image is what happens in AI as an option.
  5. Designer - iPad - Power Duplicate Gesture Can we have a gesture or some way of power duplicating without having to go back to the menu and tapping the Duplicate button each time please. Feel free to correct me as I know you will
  6. Luckily I did the illustration and the copy will have been checked before publication Alf. It's what is known as 'blurb'. Just put in place to give an idea of what copy would look like. Gear Maker helped me out here... he gave me the answers I needed.
  7. Phew! I made some progress - thank you. As I have said before, in AI I romp through this stuff. I earnt my living with it for years. I have to learn AD.
  8. Sorry to be a complete plonker but I did try join curves with this result shown
  9. That is the answer tank you. I thought I had close the ends using the pen tool but obviously not. I would normally use command J but it doesn't work in Designer.
  10. So I made an arc and then rotated a rectangle and copies. When I try and join them into one shape I get this bar across the image. Sometimes a wide one that shows up and other times one that can be only seen in outline view. Any thoughts welcome
  11. Thanks you very much chaps - lots to consider and try. Sorry for the late response but in frustration I have had to fire up my 13 yearly iMac and use an equally old version of illustrator. I flew through the drawing using so many little quirks that I have learned over the years. I guess I'm trying to gain that affinity with Affinity if you see what I mean. I have to, because one day that old iMac just isn't going to fire up and I'm not getting involved with adobe again!
  12. I have a line and a curve. The curve is a circle that has been halved. The line is... well a line. I use the node tool and shift - select the two points. I try close curve and join curve. Both methods send a line processing from the curve instead of simply joining the two points.
  13. I have two nodes in the same place. In 'the other' programme I draw a marquee across the two node thus selecting them and command J. How can I achieve a join in AD without unpredictable results please. Amazing... After a long time trying and getting hot, I posted here then first attempt and it worked! I had to select the whole thing before selecting the two nodes in question. DOH!
  14. A2 Magic! that is the answer. I wasn't on a pixel layer. Thank you.
  15. Ca you do me a screenshot of where that option is please. Thanks
  16. Pretty sure this is pixel persona. I must be using the wrong terminology.
  17. Q1 How do I merge down? Is it just dragging which embeds the layer in another layer or is it possible to actually merge layers? Q2 Why do I get a new layer each time I paint in pixel persona? Sorry to ask such newb questions but as an Illustrator and Photoshop user for 30 years, old habits die hard!
