Designer: Is there a way of selecting the same... color, line weight, or just same objects? I don't see it in the menus, but perhaps I am missing something.

ArcGIS also uses the .emf format to create Picture Marker Symbols. I have been using Illustrator to create the emf documents, but would like to create them directly.

Document > Clip Canvas leaves a small margin along the right hand edge, rather than close clipping as with the other three sides.
