I've done a search and can't find similar issues, so here goes... (1) Why does Photo not open files in the order they were taken? Whether I load from the programme, or I load from the file foler, they always load in a random manner, which when editing makes it a bit of a PITA to edit. I have to use the double arrows >> to pick the files in order, and after hitting "develop" it then loads another random file on a random tab. Is this something that can be looked at to make a smoother work flow? (2) Sometimes my RAW files will go dark. It's like someones changed the exposure and knocked it right down, but actually no settings have moved. Today I tested it again, and have found that although no settings have changed (nothing shows as altered on the editing panels, everything's at "0") I actually have to preset the reset button for it to return to the original settings. It's really wierd. Thanks all

Hope it's OK to ask here instead of creating a new thread for no reason - I am now using V2, so the export screen is a little different. i want to create a png export for a blog, whereby all my images, when selected, export at a certain size. Under PNG, then Advanced, I can see the hamburger icon and it offers "create preset", but only actually highlights the "create preset", and allows me to use it, if i change the Advanced options - which i dont want to do - it is only the image size i want to change and save as a preset - any ideas? Thanks

Thank you smadell. I hadn't even considered turning off the noise reduction! What a numpty!! 😅 I used 15 shots, and had 3 ND filters on, ideally I need an nd64, but from recollection they are pretty expensive (i use cokin p-series) so i have a couple of others, 2 x nd8 and a graduated filter - not ideal really and hence why the longest i could go was 6 seconds. However that said if I can reduce the times between each exposure by changing the noise reduction settings, then hopefully I can continue with this setup until i have the pennies for the 64

Thanks for explaining each of the methods, that makes it much clearer, and method 1 looks the best fit for me I will look into deactivating the camera noise - I hadn't thought of that! And the motion blur idea is brilliant too - I shall give it another go with all those ideas - thank you!

Hi All It's been a VERY long time since I dabbled with my camera, and last time I did anything I was using Photo V1. So, this is my first time using V2, and I'm having some unusual results with cloud photos in particular. I recall when using V1 getting lovely creamy smooth cloud movement, and I'm not getting that in V2... (I suspect the issue is me, and that I'm missing something ) I don't have very dark filters so I have stacked 15 x images that are each 6 seconds long. However there are noticable clumps in each image, presumably from the gap between images (the camera needed to "reduce noise" which also took roughly 6 seconds). From what I can remember this is nothing different to when I did it before, yet got lovely smooth results... Anyway, the photos: (1) Using Stack, set to Mean, which gave me the smoothest results.. (2) Using focus Merge (3) Using stack, set to Maximum (4) Manually added all images and set each layer blend mode to Average basically, anyone who has success with long exposure and clouds, I'd love some feedback on the process you use. I suspect the huge gap between each image is the issue BUT that said, that would have been no different to how I did it before, and yet got lovely results... Thank you :0)

Hi again How do I enable PDF logging? Ive opened the same file today, no alterations since I got it to finally succesfully export as a PDF, but needed to export at a lower res - it's throwing up the same errors again arghhhh!! I've tried splitting the file into two halves to work out where the issue lies but no success.

Hi All Having issues with saving as a PDF today. From previous experience, it's usually an anomaly in a hyperlink (i create e-magazines), but i have painstakingly gone through ALL of them - 4 times now - and can't see any of the usual issues (eg spaces either side etc) ... so in desperation to get it to the editor for proof reading i unticked hyperlinks in the pdf export - and it's still getting 3/4 of the way through then saying ERROR saving! Agh please help the editor is desperate for this today!! On as aside, could I make a suggestion that hyperlinks with issues get highlighted, sometimes I have documents with hundreds of pages and as many hyperlinks, it's so time consuming to manually check them all, even via the hyperlinks tab (ps if there is already a short cut to direct you straight to it please enlighten me) thank you :0)

Yup me too. Larger document of 50+ pages, at first thought it was a hyperlink issue but ive painstakingly been through each one. Tried opening in original Publisher as a way around getting the PDF done for my client but it won't open things created in 2. Please any work around urgently required. Sat here 25 minutes now and still no preview 😮

I'm still a beginner with A photo, I'm struggling with the transition between photoshop and this, which is funny as with the other 2 programmes, I've never used the Adobe equivalent and have gone straight into them with no issues and very confident using them! Im Sure I'll get used to it and then love it but I struggle with certain aspects and layers merging (perspective and pixel layers) without warning, and I have a terrible problem with it constantly bombing out! Does anyone else? Again, designer and publisher and brilliant they don't crash but photo is very unstable I find.

Thanks everyone! I had used as many images as you would probably expect in a magazine with cars, some pages 2 or 3, some pages as many as 8. Some of the adverts sent were quite big so I wonder if it's them. I honestly didn't have time to investigate much further as I was on a tight schedule, just a little frustrated as the previous person who did the magazine was gloating at how much better indesign was and how Adobe will reduce them easily... I eventually discovered ilovepdf and managed to shrink it that way. Thanks Lagarto for your analysis above, very interesting and good for thought!!

Hello! I have made the very recent commitment to move to Affinity for all my workstreams, but today I opened up a product mockup PSD and everything was distorted 😮 All my mockups now don't work - I did a search and it seems A-Photo can't "read" the PS distortion features - so my question is, if it isn't on the cards to be worked on for A-Photo, does anyone have recommendations for a decent place to find alternative (possible free?) mock ups that DO work with Affinity? Thanks
