  1. Thanks - I obviously did not search well enough (I only searched this suggestion forum). It's been 4 years, so hopefully it might be reconsidered at some point.
  2. I understand it's possible in Publisher to create a hyperlink (for text at least) to an external site, but not in Designer (though it's possible to export a PDF). I've just finished a doc in Designer and need some links, but just realised it's not possible - so currently I'm contemplating using an external utility to insert links to exported PDFs. It would be good to avoid that and be able to natively setup a link in Designer, so if the doc is exported as a PDF then it can be used there. The link should not have any bounding rectangle or comment/annotation associated with it (that may appear when viewing the doc in PDF) - just an invisible zone that has contains the link (mouse rollover shows the 'hyperlink present' cursor). Thanks for your consideration.
  3. I believe this is a generic Acrobat Reader issue (i.e. not relating to Publisher) as I've found frequent crashing on my machine using other software to insert a link into PDFs (since I use Designer, and currently it does not have insert link - BTW it would be good if it did). I found random crashes, and research led me to this link but I think this is for 32-bit Reader users - it did not work for me. I'm using 64-bit Reader, and what I've found seems to overcome this crash issue upon clicking a link in a PDF is to disable Protected Mode at Startup via Menu > Preferences (based on this link Solution 3 which did not work for me). If you're still having crash issues, try unchecking the 'Enable Protected Mode at startup' and probably the 'Protected View setting' should be off (mine was set to off by default). You'll have to restart Reader for the change to come into effect. See how that goes..
  4. I can't import a palette via any means. I'm not sure which format is supported, but Indesign palette seems to be accepted in the finder (i.e. that type is available to import) but nothing appears in the palette after importing.
  5. Hi I'm using RC3. Trying to do some geometry operations involving lines and shapes. This seems to not work. I attach a sample doc. In one case with multiple lines in a group, I'm trying to use a circle to cut away the bulk of the lines to make a series of small arcs. After selecting both groups (lines & circle), no geometry operations possible on the toolbar. Moving circle above or below lines makes no difference. Using menu reveals one possible option: Layer > Geometry > Divide, but it makes no difference - doesn't do the divide operation. Another simple example, one line and one rectangle - in that case - the geometry tools are available, but none give a predictable output - in fact not much happens, making those operations no good. Thanks. geometry ops with lines.afdesign
  6. A minor issue with slice export filenames. I've noticed if I have a named slice with a period in it, e.g. "0.10" (the text inside the quotes is the name), and export 1x & 2x versions, the exported filename is just "0" (ignore quotes, just the number 0 appears as the PNG filename), and only the 2x version is exported. Not a biggie, just a bit strange I think.
  7. In the RC1 (1.1.2.23308), when a new doc is created and it's of doc type 'devices' & iPad 2, and it's saved and reopened, the system will report doc properties as 'web' XGA. I think it's not a major problem - just one of consistency, since if I create a 'devices' doc with say iPhone 6, when I reopen the doc later, the doc properties are reported properly (devices/iPhone 6) so the iPad case was a little unexpected. Thanks.
  8. Hi Matt I did a quick test in the RC, recreating a similar base shape & tried subtracting with a new rect shape, and it seems to be good. I also copied the base shape from an earlier file & tried a similar test, and all seems good. So hopefully all is ok now. Thanks alot for getting back to me on this issue.
  9. Hmm. Thanks for your effort. I wonder if some kind of fix was performed since reporting? It seems like you've 'flushed out' the issue by re-importing, making me wonder if I recreated these objects from scratch in the current beta, then perhaps the problem has gone away (particularly if a fix was applied)? As soon as possible, I'll try to make some other shapes in a new doc with this beta to see if I can reproduce this problem.
  10. The subtract bug I reported a while ago is still in this version. https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/5787-possible-subtract-bug/ Is it possible to fix before releasing?
  11. No worries - thanks for all your great efforts. The software is looking great, and you should all be proud.
  12. Just a friendly reminder, this bug still persists with the latest beta (1.1.2.23003).
  13. I got a crash after using the corner tool to draw out a arbitrary radius, then trying to fine-tune the value in the 'specify radius' box - trying to edit it, gave me the spinning ball, then crash - JFYI.
  14. Hi, I'm evaluating the beta. I think I found an instance where the subtract does not give the expected result (see attached). I created some shapes and combined them together into a compound (to provide a single base shape). I overlaid a square and did the subtract function after selecting the shapes, but in most cases, I saw some ugly artefacts around the top corners of the post-subtracted image (see attached). I also attach a sample project.Thanks. test.afdesign
  15. Hi, I'm just wondering if there is or likely to be any offers to existing DrawPlus users to purchase Designer at a discount? Thanks.
  16. Hi Matt, thanks for your reply. I was using Transform width/height to set each of the 100px values. I will pay attention to x/y whole values. I tried setting x/y to whole values & making a 100x100 px square in an iphone 5 doc, and did a rasterise operation and got 100.5 (w) x 100 (h) image, and 202 x 200 in the export area. I'll try the beta & see how it goes. Thanks again.
  17. Hi I've evaluating Designer. I've noticed an esoteric issue - if I create, say, a 100x100 square with no colour edge, and rasterise or export, I get an image as either 102x102, 101 x 101 or 100 x 101 (depending upon doc type) but never 100x100. I guess this is due to anti-aliasing of edges. I know I can resize the slice outline, but I think for a square, a clean edge (i.e. 100x100) in the export should be possible (and expected). I tried setting background to transparent and not (white), and making sure the edge width is zero, with the same outcome. I think it makes no difference about the resampler method (also BTW I seem to be unable to select nearest neighbour in the export options, which I thought might be a possible solution). I guess an option for e,g, PNG-24 (with no transparency, but still ant-aliasing within the rect) is needed for square/rect items. It's not a biggie - I thought I'd mention in case it's unexpected behaviour for rectangular items. Thanks. :)
