How to "scissor off" an irregular part of a shape

This is good info but does not work on curve or text with fx applied. It just creates two curves with the fx applied and the edges where the cut occurs is irregular. Any more information on how to do this?

Affinity Designer for creating Web pages?

So if WebPlus X8 is now legacy and there are no plans for an Affinity Web design software does this mean that Serif will no longer develop Web Design software?
