  1. I've been working with RAW and Merge to HDR images all afternoon. Suddenly the grid on this one is behaving all weird. Screen_Recording_2020-06-06_at_17_32_56.mov
  2. When changing spreads from facing pages to single pages, all guides on master pages are lost. Pretty major problem. And one that has been around for ages and ages.
  3. I made a similar suggestion somewhere previously. I thought of it more as a ‘tag’ system. But essentially the same as you’re suggesting for the second part. I’m assuming the first part of your suggestion is dealt with by the file format structure. Or at least it should be.
  4. The message was from about half an hour ago saying it is one of the next things on the list.
  5. I can’t quite believe it. It is also kind of funny that it comes in a different thread to the one that’s been going for years and years
  6. Yeah, there’s a lot of excuse making that goes on in this and other threads for why really simple features haven’t been implemented. Quite often they veer towards the “we should want something better than the basic solution offered elsewhere”. Except what everyone is crying out for IS the basic solution available elsewhere as a minimum. There are, of course, obviously many ways the ‘select same’ tools in Illustrator could be improved upon. It sounds like Freehand had a much better solution for example. And probably there are much better ways that are available now than there were ~20 years ago with computing power being dramatically increased and resolution of computer screens allowing much more UI detail / info than before. But, it doesn’t get away from the fact that a basic feature could and should be able to be implemented very quickly. That would be sufficient for people to get their work done. If an earth shattering revolutionary solution is coming years down the line then great, but please just deliver the basic one quickly first so that we can get on.
  7. To be fair, I think if the Serif team opened up to the community and said something like: "we messed up, we should have dealt with this request years ago but we are now focussed on delivering it ASAP. However, we would love your ideas as to how best to implement it to make it the best implementation of such a feature in any app" That would have changed the course of this discussion and many would be enthusiastically coming up with and discussing ideas. That's not happened though and don't think it is really the fault of the community.
  8. If that’s the case, then why didn’t you just react to my message and leave it at that?
  9. What utter garbage. I suppose, to follow your logic to its conclusion, the best way to communicate how many people really want this feature is for everyone to have said nothing. This is nothing short of trolling. If you haven’t got anything useful to say, just don’t bother. If this thread is annoying you, you don’t have to read it.
  10. Hi, thanks. I think it is reasonable to expect that a placed PDF looks like the file. I’d say this is essential.
  11. It's really very easy to reproduce. Here is an Affinity PDF that I've then marked up using Macos preview. Affinity-Designer-Shortcuts-Mac_mac mark up.pdf Screen shot of the marked up PDF: Screen shot of file inserted into a publisher file.
  12. I can’t share the exact PDF, but certainly one of them was marked up using Files.app on an iPad. I’m sure I can recreate it though with a PDF that I can share if that info isn’t sufficient.
  13. No, I mean mark up. As in, annotating / sketching on top of a PDF to mark it up.
  14. When placing a PDF with mark ups, the mark ups do not display.
  15. Publisher I guess. I don’t use the personas. If I want to work in publisher I work in publisher.
  16. I've noticed that the text on my MacBook Pro Retina display is quite blurry / pixellated. I've not noticed this before so I think it is a bug that has appeared recently. It's really unpleasant and makes reading even moderately sized text quite difficult. The test in the interface looks really smooth and crisp. Even at sizes much smaller than that in the document.
  17. I agree that an official update on this would be appreciated. One that doesn’t treat us all like kids. It can be caveated, but it would be good to understand what the current aspirations are for when / which version this feature is targeted for @MEB
  18. I’m not saying don’t post. I’m just asking to please be considerate of others who, most likely, agree with the sentiment. We all want this feature and have done for years. Yes, I’m pretty fed up about it too. But receiving 10 email notifications in quick succession, visiting the thread and actually struggling to get to the most recent post because some of yours are so long the page crashes my phone browser and the page is reloaded repeatedly is just counter productive.
  19. @Ian Tindale whilst I agree with the sentiment, please stop posting the same thing over and over. I have email notifications turned on and getting all of your anger in my inbox is pretty annoying.
  20. It seems to me that there are a series of long-standing feature requests, some of which have been requested for years. It feels to me like it is time to do an update that addresses these issues and consign these problems to history. I'm certain I'm not going to capture them all here, but here are some for starters: Suite wide: - Correct the behaviour of save / save as / export dialogues so that they adhere to system norms - Flakey behaviour with 2 displays In Designer: - Add select same / colour / line style / stroke etc - DXF (and DWG?!) import / export Publisher (new product so less long standing) - Defaults on PDF export (why always defaults to spreads rather than pages) - Ability to turn off embedding of placed images as an app preference - Copy and paste pages from one doc to another
  21. When I've got a series of images that are the same, they always appear in the resource manager as nested with the nesting collapsed. When I select the image in the document, it just highlights the collapsed file name. This means if I clicked 'replace...' it would replace all instances of the file. Often when laying out a document, I might place a file, then copy it to retain its cropping, scale etc. Then replace the file with a similar image. As it stands, this is a multi step process. I have to click the placed file in the layout which highlights the collapsed header in Resource Manager, then I have to expand the list, then clear selection and reselect the image in the layout. That then highlights the individual entry in Resource Manager so that I can replace that specific instance. I can understand that some people use DTP apps differently and may rather the behaviour of defaulting to the header entry rather than the individual instance. However, please add a preference as to whether to nest multiple instances of the same file under a header or just show all single instances. Perhaps it could be a toggle in the resource manager? Alternatively, default or give the option to default to all the items being expanded so that you retain the benefits of an ordered list, where you can replace numerous instances in one go, while also allowing those who regularly need to replace a single instance the ability to do it without jumping through hoops? Thanks.
