  1. +1 Currently, masks on blur filters only affect the "transparency". In Photoshop it controls the actual radius (Lens Blur): (Left is Photoshop, right is Affinity Photo)
  2. I see. I guess I'll make a feature request then. Anyway, thanks for your response.
  3. I'm sorry, I can't get this to work. I turned on all possible snap options. In case you misunderstood, I don't mean snapping the node's handle, but an actual node along another node's handle.
  4. Is there a way to snap a node along the direction of the previous node's handle, in Designer? Considering the following semicircle, I would like to place a new or existing node at the cross:
  5. When (for example) pressing Ctrl + 9 to zoom to pixel size, the selected layer's opacity changes to 90%. Same for every other "numbered" zoom keyboard shortcut. When pressing Ctrl + 0, the selection's opacity is set to 100%. Seems like the zoom shortcuts don't suppress the ones to set the opacity. I'm using 1.5.0.17.
  6. When expanding the stroke of the attached file's shape, the top corner isn't quite round. I'm using 1.5.0.14. untitled.afdesign
  7. I hope this is a bug, but it probably isn't. When having a shape with both stroke and fill, and a background with the same color as the stroke, a 1px outline of the shape is visible outside of the stroke, when aligning the stroke to the inside. For example a black circle with a white stroke: Or a black circle with a black stroke aligned to the outside: I don't assume you can fix that easily? Does this happen in other software? The outline layer effect doesn't exhibit this behavior. Stroke.afdesign
  8. Releasing the middle mouse button, outside of the viewport when panning, isn't registered. So, when moving the cursor over the viewport / document again, the view still gets moved, even though the mouse button isn't pressed anymore. I'm still using 1.5.0.11, but couldn't find this in the list of fixes of the newest version. Plus, would you consider (maybe as an option in the preferences) to add the possibility to infinitely move the mouse while panning? This would eliminate the need to release the mouse button, when reaching an edge of the viewport while panning, and press again at the other end, to be able to pan further. To solve this from an UX perspective, the cursor could be hidden while panning (and later reshown at the same position) or, alternatively, get moved to the other end of the viewport when crossing the viewport's boundaries (see the "Coninuous Grab" setting in Blender, a 3D graphics software), like this: (damn, I can't stop making these illustrations since I downloaded Designer)
  9. On 1.5.0.11, when assigning a negative font size, the text gets moved to the left. For example, when using the mouse wheel to decrease the size, when it goes below zero, the text moves with each rotation of the wheel, eventually leaving the document. The text also loses it's bounding box, making it impossible to drag using the mouse. Were negative font sizes even intended?
  10. The transformation and stroke style are definitely a factor in whether it happens or not. Still, it seems to be never completely reproducible. For example, expanding the stroke of the diamond in the file I've attached previously, fails in about 19 of 20 times, producing the rounding. It seems to happen less often, when changing the stroke width to 0.5px. Also, when using 1px width, it never happes when changing the midpoint to 52%, but it does when changing it to 51%. The threshold moves to 57% / 58%, when having 0.5px stroke width. Finally, converting to curves seems to make no difference. Good luck!
  11. Here's the file. I get inconsistent results if I transform, or otherwise modify, the shape, even after undoing. diamond.afdesign
  12. On 1.5.0.11, using "Expand Stroke" on a diamond shape, results in one corner being rounded off, like this:
  13. I stumbled upon a bug which happens when I: 1. have a fill layer (ie. by opening a Photoshop file that has one) 2. deselect the fill layer, if it is selected 3. switch to stroke in the color panel 4. select the fill layer 5. change the color using the color panel Now the fill layer can be transformed like any other shape, the color isn't correct, and if I change the document size using "anchor to page", the fill layer is rendered with a weird pattern at the edges, like this: I'm using 1.5.0.11 Normal Fill Layer.afdesign Corrupt Fill Layer.afdesign
  14. Sure, but the whole point was to have a compound shape as mask, which of course works, I just can't modify it. Same issue with any other kind of grouped layer, btw.
  15. I'm not sure if it is a bug, intentional or a missing feature, but it isn't possible to expand a compound shape in the layers panel while it is used as a mask for another layer, as there is no drop-down button to do so. So, to edit said compound shape, I have to release it as a mask first. But this way, of course, I don't see the result while editing it. I'm using 1.5.0.9. Thanks. untitled8.afdesign
  16. Found a minor issue with a compound shape that is composed of an ellipse and a rectangle, whose left two nodes were 'swapped'. I get the following result: but expected: If I drag the left top or right bottom node, the problem persists, but not if I drag the left bottom or top right one. I know that there are many other ways to get the desired result. Just letting you know about the issue. I'm using 1.5.0.5. untitled6.afdesign
  17. Hi. Some minor issues I've found: - Changing values in the color chooser window using the input fields, has no effect on the shape, although the color does update everywhere else (eg. in the color panel). - Slices can't be moved using the arrow keys. - Pixel selections don't align properly to the pixel grid when using the pixel view / pixel drawing mode. - When using the mouse wheel to change the value of an already focused field, the value gets changed by 2 units instead of 1. - When using the mouse wheel on the font size input field to decrease the value, it resets to 5px. Quick question: Is there a possibility to add a margin around an automatically sized slice?
  18. Hi, just wanted to express my appreciation for your work and give you some feedback. I'm looking forward to finally drag Illustrator to the recycle bin as I think Affinity Designer is superior in many ways and a good example of how modern software should be like. These are some minor issues/bugs i found: After entering a hexadecimal color in the color panel (not window), I can't confirm using Enter. When clicking into another input field, the color changes in the panel but doesn't change the selected shape's color. Only after dragging a slider it does. When dragging the layer's opacity slider too fast (or to 100%), it doesn't get applied correctly. For example, I drag it to 100% but the layer remains translucent. When rotating the mouse wheel over the document while a slider is open, the slider moves, but the view gets zoomed/scrolled too. When clicking the Manage Presets button in the export window, nothing happens. When clicking a layer's fx symbol while another layer is selected, the effects window for the selected layer gets opened and not for the one i clicked. The selected alignment buttons don't reset when closing/opening the arrange panel. Thus, if i align a shape, select another, open and close the arrange panel without changing anything, the alignment from the first shape gets applied to the second one too. Opening a file with AD in the File Explorer while AD is open, doesn't open the document. The assets panel can't be scrolled using the mouse wheel. When resizing AD's window to a narrow size, the buttons in the title bar get stretched and cropped. In certain input fields (like the ones in the transform panel) the context menu opens at the wrong position (ie. top left corner of the window). When using the arrow keys to move a shape and later duplicate it, the translation doesn't get applied to the duplicate. It works only when dragging using the mouse. AD once crashed when using the vector crop tool, but I couldn't reproduce it. Another time AD got unresponsive when I was dragging a layer using the layers panel. Another curious bug I found happens when I open untitled2.afdesign then open untitled3.afdesign, leaving the first one open select the node tool double click the white triangle to select it dragging a node of the triangle around a bit then the CPU usage stays at about 5% even when minimizing AD. Finally, some features I'd like to have in AD: Export preview (ie. for JPEG quality). Ability to retrospectively reposition a shape while creating it. Invert shape to fill the outside instead of the inside. Tool to crop the document or crop by selection as I can't see the result using Document Setup. Keyboard shortcut presets for different keyboard layouts. Ability to detect and convert a curve shape back to it's basic 'shape' (ie. to convert the path of a rounded rectangle back to an actual rounded rectangle). When exporting a non .afdesign file, set the suggested file name's extension to the export type's extension (ie. 'file.jpeg' when exporting a PNG file as JPEG, instead of 'file.png'). I am using Affinity Designer 1.5.0.2 on Windows 10. Thank you again for this marvelous software!
