when I hover over the left side of the Layer it says RAW....thanks for replying I'll read those links you sent -

it was a RAW file ARW that I developed in the the Develop Persona -

thanks for replying, it's the original layer of the photo so I thought it would already be a pixel layer -
hello, I'm trying to a create new layer from selection. I make make my selection with the selection brush and then hit Command C and Command V. The new layer is just an exact copy . It's suppose to be just the selection. I'm new to Affinity Photo and thinking maybe I have something wrong in my settings. Any help would be really appreciated, thanks
