  1. I'm trying to move a header, but if it goes above or below beyond a certain line it vanishes. I assume it is snapping. If this is the issue, how do I resolve it? If it is not the issue, how can I correct the problem? I have baseline grid selected.
  2. Yes - all layers show an orange line. What does this mean and how should I deal with it?
  3. I have set up a master page to control the size of the page numbers - but the font size is not changing in the pages. Why might this be? I have changed the font size to 9 pt in the master, but it is still 12 pt on the page to which I have applied that master. Any ideas?
  4. I have lots of text for a book that has the straight line apostrophes. Is there a simple find and replace option to change them all to curved apostrophes? Word has this function, but I'd love to skip that whole operation if Publisher already has it.
  5. I still cannot find a word count option, or any news on its implementation. Has it been added somewhere yet?
  6. In the end I had to delete the title, and backspace until it met the previous para, then hit enter to get the indent. Then add the title. Works okay now.
  7. I am having trouble with a particular section of text. I'm very rusty with AP and can't work this out. I cannot seem to separate a title from body text. The body text bunches up with the title, and takes its formatting. And even if I delete the title, the body text will not take its own formatting - particularly the first line indent. See attached images. Please let me know if you need more info. Thanks
  8. The tutorial didn't solve the problem. If I create a tab then search for the tab - the tab still is not found. Why might this be?
  9. Thanks. I have just tried this but cannot get it to work. I'll have to find a video tutorial.
  10. Is there a way to remove all indents from some text I'm pasting in, using Publisher? I have a lot of messy indents and want to just push all text to the left margin. I haven't yet found software that will do this. All suggestions appreciated.
  11. I'm afraid I can't follow this at all. I've gone to https://github.com/hunspell/hunspell/releases And downloaded this hunspell-1.7.0.tar.gz But it's a mass of files that I don't understand. I could not find any .aff or .dic files. Can you give me some more detailed guidance? (The MacOS dictionary is set to US English but AFP is apparently not connecting with it. I've tried restarting AFP, but no joy)
  12. This is not working for me. Is there an easy way to get a US English dictionary installed for Mac?
  13. I produced a book last year and want to use the same body style for the new book. Is there a way to export the body styles from book one and use it in book two? Thanks
  14. As an author and designer I would like to use book mockups as they have in Photoshop. Is anything in the works for this? I could not find mention of such a feature when looking for tutorials. If it is not in the works, please consider adding this. I'm sure there are workarounds, but something simple and effective would be very valuable to me. Thanks
  15. Very true. I am highlighting the main issues I'm struggling with so that they might consider doing a tutorial on those features. But so far, it's a world away from the horrors of trying to do all this in Word. Somehow I managed eight books that way ...
  16. This is gold Walt, thanks. As a visual learner I would follow this better in a video. I'm new to AP obviously, and learning a lot. In future all this would be way easier and quicker if I can apply the strategy you outline. I don't know if you make videos, but this would be a great one to make available.
  17. How would I do this when creating a footer style? I can't seem to get it this to apply to all pages in the book.
  18. It seems the way to get this working was to copy and cut all the text, then paste it back in without formatting. It then seemed to work as intended.
