Idk why I have a feeling this will happen but not soon maybe next 5-10 years. I love affinity I wish Canva hold stronger keeping thier promises as ash mentioned, otherwise We will have a story to tell for future designers.

I guess they will leave v2 as is, but Canva Cloud will be an option for those who want to use it with fancy AI tools, for those who don't care they can use V2 normally, this is what I understand from @Ash and still waiting for his confirmation to last reply, For me, if I need these cloud services and fancy tools and it's an option that suite my workflow I will subscribe to it, but not if Im forced into a subscription for the previous tools we had before, I wish V3 to remain a 1-time payment as the Canva Subscription remains only an extra option for those who need it,

Me too I loved Affinity and I recommend on every video on my SM, some of why students are very happy and satisfied. I wish to see this community growth and Affinity become the new Standard.

@Ash What I understand maybe will be 2 available options for V3 or maybe some stage of V2.x Option 1 (one time payment) the usual softwares we know linked to our account on affinity.serif hosting, normal usage without fancy cloud and extra stuff. The updates will be free untill next version comes out. Option 2 (subscription) with same benefits as option 1 but with extra fancy services like cloud storage and syncing our devices and resources like stocks templates and like so, this will be additional options for those who need it, Please confirm this Mr @Ash. Thank you so much in advance.

After reading @Ash's response, I feel reassured and confident about the future of Affinity, a softwares and platform we deeply loved. His clarification couldn't have come at a better time, restoring our hopes for Affinity's evolution since its inception with Version 1. I believe that maintaining a one-time payment model for Affinity would be fantastic for the community, fostering expansion. Additionally, the option for subscription-based access to cloud services or other extras from Canva could be beneficial for those who require them in the future. Overall, I am feeling calm and optimistic about the path ahead.

Thank you so much for this clarification, as it will be 2 potions for those who want to use affinity suite as it it without that cloud and syncing or stock will be one time payment, and for those who needs canva stuff like cloud and AI etc they can subscribe to this plan, Is it correct Mr Ash?

Yes as I mentioned in my previous reply V2 have almost every things needed to work its need some work arounds with image tracer and rtl support which I'm fine with at least we got what we bought 🐱, my expectations is low very low but let's see what time will brings us.

I just downloaded all my assets and add-ons buyed from affinity website to have a backup on my hard drive, also downloaded V1 with serial keys, so what's remains is V2 as I need online activating, so idk what Affinity will do the servers I wish they keep them online forever, or give us serial keys with offline activate update, at least we keep what we own, otherwise it will be like one payment subscription or rent. Hopping for the best.

Thank you for clarifying this mr Walt, for me the V2.4.1 have everything I need if I need auto tracer I go with inkscape if I need RTL I go with leomoon so my expectations are low in this maters but to have V2 better thank run into V3 subscription. I appreciate your comment,

The missing functions and futures like auto trace and rtl support etc .. is the only winner card for V3 or Canva suite v3 or whatever, Lower you expectations we all in same boat and show some respect

So sad that V2 is online activated, but as our agreement with Affinity it's required to keep it up and running otherwise full refund, we own it its not subscription crap, the old V1 it's used to activate with serial but this big brother V2 need email and password. I think affinity will keep their servers up running and separated from V3 Canva Suite. At least with my 20% trust remaining in affinity.

Who agreed with me? Technically the Affinity V2 has everything that We need right?! Let's get the updates for free untill the V3 comes out, and keep using existing V2 for every, if the V3 was subscription We all gather and make a good by party 🎉 if it's not subscription let's make a meeting and decide what ever we stay or not because for real We loved Affinity because of it positioning it was in the industry and all that trust gained like 80% of it evaporated (imo), otherwise we take the but to old home 🏠 if there's no huge benefits of staying at leats We do something We know it will work for us. I will keep my V1 and V2 softwares forever as agreements in licence, and affinity required to keep them running and provide activating support each and every time we have an issue or we changed our personal 💻 laptop with new one etc.

Affinity & Canva this makes me realise how the situation goes, Let's see what happens in the next few updates remaining on V2.
