  1. It's exciting to see the update to v2.6. However, it seems that I can't use the new version of affinity photo or affinity designer to edit the photoshop mock-up PSD file which contains smart objects like I could with the earlier versions. I wonder if this is just me or other affinity users have the same issue?
  2. Hello, I wonder if there's a way to rasterise everything except the texts upon export the PDF file with Affinity Publisher? And how can I reduce the exported PDF size by reducing its resolution from the original 300dpi to 72dpi? ( Its seems that, even if I set the output PDF resolution to 72dpi, the exported file size is the same size as its original 300dpi). Hope this gets across clearly. 🙂
  3. Hi @Dan C, Sorry for taking so long to get back to your instruction on my question. I tried your solution, changed the document units to pixels and ensure all the values in the Transform Studio are full pixel values. But the exported jpg still has the unwanted additional area on the right side. Please see the photos attached. I noticed this happens when the bleed is included. Without the bleed included, the export jpg is perfectly fine.
  4. Hi, when I'm trying to export my artboard as jpg or png files, a white strip will appear on the right side of the file. This happens when the file size is B4 and alike. For other size, there is no such problem. Please see the photos attached. Furthermore, when exporting the whole document rather than the specific artboard, the white strips appears again on all 4 sides. My question is how to avoid the white strips at all? I'm using v2.4.0. It seems the same with v2.5 Beta. I'm not sure if this problem is solved in the latest v2.5? Thanks!
  5. @Dan C Yes, please bring back the option for the old pencil tool which allows for more detailed drawing which I believe is essential for many illustrators and designers who create detailed graphics using the pencil tool. I am a comics artist and graphic designer and I rely on the pencil tool a lot for my art works. Please check out my comics at: https://tapas.io/series/Space-X You can probably see I rely on the pencil tool a lot to draw details. Sometimes I feel the new pencil tool's smoothing algorithm is a bit overlapping with the smoothing options already existent with the old pencil tool. Now with the new pencil tool, I have to zoom in to add details, which is very inconvenient as I can't see the whole picture when zooming in. In my opinion, if I was going for smoother lines, I would rather use the pen tool rather than the pencil tool. Hope my explanation get across clearly. And yes, while the new pencil tool is an improvement in a way, but please don't abandon the option for the old pencil tool. Hope this problem will be solved in the later version of Affinity. For now, I think I'll stick with v2.4. Thanks!
  6. Can I have both affinity designer v2.4 and v2.5 installed on my windows system? Can affinity designer v2.4 open the documents saved in v2.5?
  7. I have a question about the pencil tool improvement in V2.5 Beta. As I do vector illustrations in Affinity Designer using the pencil tool all the time, what if I want to draw the rugged lines with lots of details using the new pencil tool? It seems like the new pencil tool will smooth the lines automatically and eliminate the unnecessary points which I would like to keep in the drawing? I'm pretty satisfy with the pencil tool in the current v2.4. I fear that the new pencil tool may no longer suit the need of the illustrators who draw a lot of details.
  8. Yes, absolutely look forward to it!
  9. Does the new line width tool support asymmetrical line width, meaning change the line width on each side separately?
  10. I've just upgraded the 3 affinity programmes to V2.3.1. The images of linked PDF in 300dpi are not shown completely in Affinity Publisher. And after being exported into jpg, the images are still not complete. Please see the attached photo.
  11. Thanks, @bbrother. This is exactly what I was looking for. It's the closest function to the "virtue cut" tool in CorelDRAW. Cheers! 😄
  12. Hi @Lee_T, Thanks for the detailed explanation of this cut function. It's not exactly the solution for my problem with trimming, but it's something I didn't know before. Lots to learn about the latest version of Affinity! 🙂
  13. Is there any way to delete the segment of the curve as marked with the red circle in the attached picture? There's a tool called "Virtue Segment Delete" in CoreDRAW which can implement this function easily.
  14. Hi, is there anyway to align objects along a path in affinity designer 2.3? Thanks!
